Late reply!

A counter hit only registered because Ryu tried to attack Sakura on her dash in. As he was late, her low punch (HP i think) landed first and registered as a counter hit. Ryu now takes a little more time to recover from the punch (penalty for counter hit), so Sakura cancelled into to the EX Shunpuu Kyaku (if thats the right name^^). Then finished of with her ultra.

Practice combos with counter hit too. The ones that were impossible might just be possible with counter hit opening

dude there is a setting on the options to turn on the Japanese voice over. in my opinion the English voice overs are annoying as hell. I'm guessing this was uploaded from the Japan release of the game. I have my American version set to the Japanese voice overs.

Had no idea until recently that Sakura was considered one of the weakest characters in the game, I mean i'm no tournament with her but ive beating a hell of a lot of people with her even when facing sagat and gief players who clearly know what they are doing. At least when i win with her I can say it was me and not the character I was using and not feel dirty about using a OP character, no offence to Sagat users.

unless u are playing at the very top level, tier listings do not really matter much. sure it will give you a good sense of who is strong and who is not, but this game is very well balanced and every character can be absolutely crazy if played right. but if u do get to the top level, u can't win tourneys playing as sakura against a pro sagat. it is kind of like handicapping yourself because the top tier chars do more damage and have more tools to win. for most of us, the difference is minuscule.

As has already been pointed out, she's not a pupil of Ryu, but an imitator of Ryu (who WANTS to be his pupil). And IT'S JUST A GAME! The actual usefulness of characters need not match their roles in the story; if they'd actually made her a lesser fighter than other characters, few people would even want to play as her!

That Ex Kick Combo into Ultra looks way too easy to execute to me. At least with Other combos into Ultra's ive seen such as Ryu's dragon punch cancel to ultra fireball, it takes a bit of execution to get down.

You don't need to cancel Ryu's DP to combo into his Ultra. Every character has at least one simple string that will go into the Ultra easily. Some are even throws.
