The South African Special Task Force is not Special Forces but a Police unit like SWAT, no fancy gear here :) They are the only Police unit to have to qualify Parabat drops last time I checked. There are videos of South African Special Forces on youtube too. We are Brothers in Arms.

@tier1op4 really? if U.S special forces are so good why was the SASR sent in first in Afghanistan? Look at the Vietnam war the SASR killed 598 Viet Cong and only lost 2 men... Our regular army is also better than Americas... look at the casualty count in Afghanistan... if you multiply Australia's troops there and casualties so the overall number of troops is the same we still have LESS casualties... stop dreaming

@blobby1972 That's what my country does. We support nations that need our help. We do it to smaller nations in our region. With financial, military aid. We help the UK and US in their conflicts because we know that some of the nations in our region. Will most likely become a little less stable in the future. We will need the US, UK and allies assistance. As we don't have a big enough defense force or thus we don't have enough ships and planes to deal with the larger nations.

@wcb67 The Taliban die like flies in battle. They do most of their killing through remotely detonated IEDs, and when it comes to a fire fight they are always outgunned. The reason they are still causing problems is because they have a never ending supply of new recruits to replace the ones that are killed. These new recruits go in and get killed and are then replaced with another batch that go in and get killed and so on. They are FAR from even close to the best.

I think that if we keep our commitment to sticking this out to the end, eventually we will stop the Taliban from being a serious threat to Afghanistan or the world, and we can successfully get the country back on its feet. I just hope we can deal a large enough blow to the Taliban before we leave so that they can't be considered a serious threat to the rest of the world. And again, you're right about their government.
