its stupid when they sound the siren when there is a thunder storm warning when they sound the siren the second time no one really listens to it. they finally changed it now they only sound the siren if there is a tornado warning in my county!

@marcvilla08 You head to basement, strap yourself and your family to pipes the are connected underground and hold on with your legs and arms. If you own a dog or cat, if they are medium or small sized hold them inbetween you and the pipe and squeeze tightly. Keep squeezing, not kill them, but just squeeze enough. I only has to do it once but the tornado didn't strike my house, although my house shaked back and forth. If the dog is large try to strap him by himself and hope that rope is strong...

I've talked to people visiting my area (way northern NY) and they find it so bizarre that we hear this every single day, as it's just the fire department's siren. They generally sound it at noon everyday. I guess it's just because we almost never GET any tornadoes to worry about.

well i know its a rotating siren of some kind...but i dont know what is....My best guess would be a American Signal Tempest 128 Siren, because that's the only siren that sounds close to this unknown siren sound on this video.

Brandfoley - You don't understand how many of these things we go through every season. LOL Most of the Sirens have been duds over the last 8 years, except for one in 2005. I got it on video tape and got awesome pics of it, I was on the news, as well as my pics, which also made it to The Weather Channel.

where i live the squall line wasnt strong enufff to produce a tornado but juts this mornin i heard that arkansas got hit pretty bad and so far 55 ppl have died 24 in tennessee i think
