how long is the training? i want to be a firefighter and i want to have an idea before i join. and some say that i don't need college to be a firefighter is that true????

Basic school for us is about 9 weeks. Some places are more some are less. Collage is not a requirement in most cases but is a really good thing to have. It also gives you something to fall back on if something ever happens.

yah, u should take some college classes, and u will definiteley need to get emt certified. u should atleast get emt -intermediate

you will have to go to a tec. college for about two years, one year for fire science, and 1 year for paramedic training. PS sorry if i miss spelled some stuff im tired.

the firefighter they took down that ladder has the same fire boots we have stc structure fire boots

what is your opinion of the boots? I don't think he was too impressed with them. I mean, 14 weeks of 8-10 hours of use a day will take its toll on anything, but the sales rep was overly-confident the boots would not falter.

Somebody shut the pass device off. It would make communication a bunch easier.

There was a 2nd evolution on the interior of the tower: Locating a downed firefighter in lights-out conditions, locating by activated pass device. You'll notice around 1:40, the rescuers locate the downed FF, and silence the PASS before attempting extrication.
