  • song name? ;;)

  • @450TeroX

Unmei no Hi ~Tamashii tai Tamashii

  • Best scene ever

  • Comment removed

  • I dont know about all of you, but I prefer Gohan having a high pitched voice(Jap) than a smokers voice (Eng)

  • @GodotPROSE same here

  • The best part of this video is the music and the "oh shit..." look on Cell's face, lol. Absolutely priceless.

  • @mooglemaster17 i know, right? he's just like, "ooooooooh, i done fucked up now..."

  • I don't see why people hated on the Funi Dub, they had the best non-Japanese dub of any anime to ever come to any country. I can understand the music part, only like 3 songs were really hitting that high "HOLY SHIT, THAT'S EPIC" part. Japanese is the original, like it or not, it's the best, because it applies to all things...

Sequels are never as good as the original.

    DBZ Jap- 10/10

DBZ Eng (America) - 8.5/10 (the music could have been better, no one cares for voices anyways)

  • I .. I dont get it. The ones that liked the original Jap version of this scene hate the English version , but the ones that like the English dub hate the Kai version ??

    What the fuck?!

  • The original voice acting and OST are probably one of, if not the best in the history of Anime. Fuck dub clowns and their rewritten version of DB. This scene has always been a classic. Probably the best scene in all the series. Shit used to get me teary eyed as a kid. Hear that beautiful Spirit VS Spirit track? Bruce Falconer can fuck off with his terrible music direction.

The dub was a complete miss. One of the horrors of dubbing. Disgusting to see it so openly accepted and praised.

  • @BakuhatsuShojo It was a pretty sweet dub if you ask me. Actually, majority of fans liked the dub. I mean the music wasn't half-bad, but what can you do? Only Japan actually makes specific music for each of their animes, no matter how short or long they may last, you can't blame America or any other country that dubbed it for that. It's not so much a horror compared to the 4Kids dub of animes, that's a fucking horrible dub. DBZ is fine, I liked how they added more emotion through speech...

  • Gohan + SSJ2= BOSS!!!

  • I will never forget this scene. Not the DBZ or Kai dubs, but the original. It's just a much more emotionally powerful scene. The music is completely fitting considering what's taking place. If people knew what the song was about they might understand that.

  • the american version sucks stupid. stupid fatty yanks they have no idea how to make cartoons xd

  • @Dragonball60822 HAI!!!

  • @sixtoruiz i agree

  • Wakamoto Norio as Cell = I came...

  • Nooo... You were my man, er bot #16! So much like a robotic Jesus! Such a shame how he seemed to be forgotten after that.

  • @SharinganWarrior333 Fine with me. You just need to acknowledge that:

    1) You have no right to impose your opinion on others

    2) You're imposing a double standard by calling me out on things you have done as well

  • @SharinganWarrior333 That's funny considering the fact that you were the first one to say: END OF STORY. Seems you're accusing of doing the exact same things you're doing. And even worse is that you're doing those things before me.

  • @SharinganWarrior333 Yeah, I have a right to my opinion and the right to express it. I'm not going to say I like both when I think one stinks. FUNI sucks and that's my opinion. So you're saying my opinion is bullshit. Then I have nothing else to say to you. You're a moron and that's it.

  • 1:28

    FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!

  • @SharinganWarrior333 It's not the end of the story. If I hate the English dub and see it as nothing more than a glorified AMV created to suit ONLY American kids' taste, then I'm going to say it without hesitation. I'm asking for neither your approval nor your response. Now that's the end of the story

  • @daindom17 This is exclusive to GT and Z dubs. Dragon Ball was cute besides Stephanie Nadolny's cringe worthy performance

  • @daindom17 stfu

  • @Janemba800 Well that was pleasant, lol

  • @SharinganWarrior333 I don't care what millions of other think. I appreciate a show for acting, quality and care put into it. Not for "epic" moments, what other people think, or for the fact that it is my language. I don't watch the Funi dub. Which is why you can see it says Japanese version on the video. You have no reason to troll me for my opinion on a video relating to the Japanese version. I say the Funi dub sucks, and I can state that opinion whenever the hell I want.

  • @regretplague

It's really hard to get to when the language you're hoping to listen to is hidden from you before it's too late. And in this instance this video was in the more movies tab and I didn't see the (Japanese Version) part. But I stand by my opinion. Jap DBZ sucks compared to English.

  • @SharinganWarrior333 i'm not a fanboy if i appreciate the original version over a watered down butchered and lame version of Dragon Ball

  • I like the american version & Japanese version I just like how high pitched a lot of the characters sound in Japanese.

  • @sheilarae1000 only a couple sound higher pitched in comparison to the rest of the characters. It's only Goku mainly because it suits his nature.

  • Dragon Ball Z dub is awesome . . . perhaps the most watchable ever but its still nothing compared to Originaland this is coming from a guy who watched dbz funi as a kid and grew up with it ! you guys need to admit Dubbing not only american but any form of alteration from original is inferior to subs

  • @Radicalvegeta Not really. Take the Funimation dub of One Piece for example. They actually translate and play out the gags in a manner that's actually funny. While the subs more often than not translate the jokes in such a way that while you chuckle at them because you get the gist of it, the translation itself is unfunny. If the dub sticks to the source material (and has good acting), then its no less valid than the original.

  • @Danthepest1 well its a matter of opinion perhaps but i watched many dubs in which they changed the dialogues entirely even to fit in american jokes also the same case with the music DBZ is a prime example of that . . . but again i think its a matter of perspective

  • @Radicalvegeta While I like the original and the Funimation dub music, the one thing I think that the dub improved was the voices for some of the characters (I couldn't stand the Japanese Goku family voice) and adding dialogue to scenes where the character just stand there in silence for like 5 minutes. Whatever tension there was when they stare at each other is gone when we get past the one minute mark.

  • @Danthepest1

    1.They meant it for that.

2.They meant goku's voice to be high pitched.

3.What you talking aboot 5 minutes?

  • Comment removed

  • Ugh.... Nozawa is a horrible choice for all non baby and 5 yr old characters she voices....

She isn't a bad actress, but Gohan isn't 80 yrs old.

If she actually sounded believable, the original would be pretty damn good.

  • @TrailerrHikk Believable? She unquestionably has the kiddish voice in all of anime when she voices Dragon Ball characters. And another thing, she wasn't even 80 when they started so good job

  • @daindom17 I was talking about how he sounded, don't put words in my mouth.

ANd defending that voice is like defending the Vietnam war. It was a stupid idea, and no one question the guy who started it until it was underway and too late.

  • @TrailerrHikk how is it possibly stupid

  • as a kid watch cell shit himself after he pissed of gohan changed my life.

  • i like the silence and gohan just standing there and then the red line goes acrose kinda like the last straw

  • @treviesm3 I know, one of the greatest things about the original version. Subtelty and silence. It makes it that much more enjoyable

  • Wow, poor gohan. im suprised he hasnt been scared for life. Hes seen more people die and get chopped up and crushed then most people have in their life and ever will, and hes only 12.

  • what is the name of the sung that is sung when Gohan goes super??

  • @blkmuscle10

    english or Jap ?

  • @blkmuscle10 Unmei no Hi. If you're looking for it in the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z Japanese cd, the name is Gohan Supa-Saiya-jin Tsu

  • on the dragon box this scene is in english dub doesn't have this music with eh english dub =/

  • I actually like the bruce faulconer version better. The original version is too soft for my taste.

  • In my view its the other way around.

After watching the original dragon ball z it looked like it was more serios then the corny amercan lines and the soundtrack trying to prove "oh look here comes a bad ass moment,ta da tat ta ra ta ttaaa da dum".

    Its just my opinion.

  • i like the version

  • JAPANESE IS AWESOME!!!!!

  • This definetly werent the full transformation at least in the funimation dub it was longer:D

  • not saiyan, the true name is saïyajin, so super saïyajin two or supa saïyajin 2 ^^

  • @knil999 Saiyajin translated is Saiyan. The jin means race. Saiya is a anagram for the Japanese word Yasai meaning Vegetable. The Saiyans are the Vegetable people. Next time learn Japanese.

  • @CrimsonVermillioneye

Jin actually means person, Saiyajin means Saiyan Person.

  • @HookemHorns972 Are there other definitions for Jin cause I'm pretty sure in Tekken they aren't going around calling Jin person all the time.

  • @CrimsonVermillioneye

well as far as Jin Kazama I'm not sure about that though, but I study Japanese and i know this Kanji 人 is translated to mean "hito" for person "jin" for person and "nin" the number counter for the amount of people.

  • @HookemHorns972 Alright.

  • @CrimsonVermillioneye so you say saiyan is a translation??? Et d'où du con, hein?? in that case we should say saiya, not saiyan. Ok jin means race but saiya doesn't saiyan. i will explain you what is saiyan.

  • @knil999 Saiyan is the correct translation. It's suppose to be pronounced like SIGH-YANbut the English Dub screwed it up and says it like SAY-YAN.

  • @CrimsonVermillioneye It's your opinion. For me Saiyan is just the israel's agents who are everywhere in the world, are you understant that i want mean?^^

  • Awesome !!Gohan i luv you <3

  • @wwDevichan i would say that the original is better but the only thing attaching me to the funimation version is bruce faulconer's epic music ! its just too good

  • 2 people did not let it go

  • i think thwe dubs are good but the original jap ,usi althought us versions were good but this gives off more emootion and it makes you feel the snap in gohans mind and lets you acutally feel his raw emotin out

  • Its sad that ppl think any english version is better than the japanese. This is the original... this is how it was meant to be seen. Any translation or change is therefore less quality no matter how much 'cooler' you think it is.

  • Honestly i LOVE dbz original but dragon ball z kai is done better i must say, plus the voice acting is great. Thats just my opinion.

  • @XiPepsiX well your opinion sucks. Thats my opinion.

  • @shadough8765 Lol, well i think they did a great job with the cell games in dbz kai, it would be nice if they could finish the story up though : /

  • I remember having a Webtv downloading this clip just so I could hear the song...It would take like an hour each load!

  • @anyone4133

LOL so do you think the whole song replacement is better?

at least Latin version kept this song

without that song there is no feeling in this scene DAM!

  • not "japanese version", but "ORIGINAL version"

  • Just watch the version you like better and stop complaining. If you're here to complain, that means you're just here to complain and troll. It even says in the title "Japanese Version". You didn't have to click on it if you didn't like it to begin with.

  • Damn!!!!!! I <3 THIS SONG! SUCK IT BRUCE FALCONER

  • @UltimateDBZFan20 You're an embarrassment for the DBZ community, your nickname is "UltimateDBZFan" and then come with Faulconer shit? Just another Faulconer faggot you are.

Go listen to your american dbz repetitive techno shit, kid.

  • @FilMarck

    dude ... it's a taste question ... don't be narrowmind oldman ..... I love both so for you ? where should I going ?

  • @IronWolf38 Yeah, right. You totally do.

    /sarcasm

  • honestly i like bruce falconers songs but this one kicks bruce's ass :D lol those 2 dislikes must be bruce faulconer and cell xD

  • man the music in this makes this scene 9000 x's better !!!!!

  • memories :,)

this dubvsjap fight is stupid just watch it in the language you prefer and stop complaining

  • the japanese version rules

  • i prefer the english version because of bruce faulconer's music, but.... i can't even lie THIS scene kicks the funi one's ass

  • ugh, why is there fucking happy ass music when gohan is obviously angry? most mismatched music ever

  • @MonstarX1 u r on the money. why should they put is irrelevent music at this situation. the most annoying thing is, some minorties actually like this

  • one should be insane to even compare american version with japanese. its only through american version DBZ reached the mass. japanese soundtrack and voices are dumb

  • @ceehkay Okay,i have to say something, the english version of this scene SUCKS more than Justin Bieber, but i actually preffer the english version of 185-Awakening XD

  • @MrRehac maybe some english versions are better than other english ones.it is natural to exceed one another.but it is also very clear that japanese versions doesnt even stand against the poorest quality of english version.just think of it. goku, the ultimate hero is given a whinny soprano female voice.leave the voices, maybe japanese love high pitched female voices.wat about the background score. it is so soft that a toddler wont watch it.how people like japanese version even if they r japanese

  • @ceehkay Yeah,i dont care about voices, but no one can stand against the japanese original soundtrack, the only one that i enjoy more than japanese musics is "Gohan's anger",and some dub parts of english, like Goku :"And this...is...to go even further beyond!" XD

  • @MrRehac obsolutely. no one can stand against the japanese original soundtrack, as it is the most disgusting.wat is more important than the voice. the representation of a personality is only complete with both appearance and voice.and u say u dont care even if goku is given a wicked old granny's voice.is this the respect u give to the hero of heros.oh buddy ! u should be loosing some screws out of ur head to support japanese sound track. dont u have a heart for god sake.

  • @MrRehac even a hardcore dbz fan will disgust dbz if he see it with japanese soundtrack. get rid of this japanese chauvinism. rather be a free man and start believing ur conscience. dbz has been dubbed in almost all the languages. the unbiased and non-patriotic fact is, american version has been the best(especially the soundtracts) and unfortunately, japanese version has been the disgusting. while the very comparison between the 2 itself is a unforgivable sin, u r flipping their positions!!!!!!!

  • @ceehkay I'm a hardcore fan and i know japanase is best e-e

Also, american is the only dub that changed musics, and that's stupid,Unmei no Hi Tamashi vs Tamashi will always own any american soundtrack, and the opening: Rock the Dragon?Give me a break ¬¬

Chala Head Chala will always own

  • @MrRehac there r actually 2 english intros by funimation.one is average just like chala head .... watever and another is beyond words. i think u would have seen only the former one.see the other one also and then compare. there is nothing to compare actually. that intro is like composed by the almighty himself.

  • @ceehkay Okay,i know the english Chala Head Chala, that thanks god is composed by Hironobu Kageyama xD,but the other one that you're talking about it's the philipino one?

  • @MrRehac dont know the composer.just check the funimation dbz intro. it will have 3 intro songs. the one which i am taking about is within those 3.

  • @MrRehac But you gotta admit chala head chala, its kind of Mishmatch. It really doesn't fit the violence of this anime.

  • @EAW56 I actually haven't,i think it fits pretty well,but....they should have add more new scenes through the sagas,it's kinda weird seeing Kid Gohan in the opening while Teen Gohan fights Cell lol

  • @ceehkay The only reason that we have more narration in the end of this episode it's because they needed something to get it better, because it wasn't epic at all

  • I wish i had seen these clips before making assumptions that the Japanese version sucks. Japanese DBZ is just as good as the FUNi version. To all those who still watch the English dub i strongly recommend that you give the Japanese version a chance.

  • @DBZOceanStudios Yeah I know, the japanese version is actually very good, mostly in terms of dialogue, if you don't understand the japanese language, than you should buy DVD's that have the option for japanese and put the english subtitles on, or you can find DBZ videos on youtube that are in japanese and have english subtitles, when you read the subtitles, you can see how great the dialogue is and how much better it is than the english dub dialogue.

  • @thownick do you know how many times i've heard that?

  • damn... what got HIS rice cooking?

  • @FatEd2012

right....but the English version isn't even DBZ. The script is changed and its way too dumbed down and kid friendly. Its almost like a really bad parody. Japanese DBZ was aimed at teens and young adults. American DBZ was aimed at 8 year olds.

  • @DiamondCutterBang no, they were both aimed at kids.

  • @FatEd2012 yo mama is so fat, she needs cheat codes FOR WII FIT!

  • WTF u 4 real

  • There are times when Dragoball Z's music is better than the Japanse version,

THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM!

  • This is the moment when the gentle little gohan become the most powerful and merciless warrior of the universe. So amazing....

  • Comment removed

  • its funny how in the english one it took like 10 - 20 minutes for every new super saiyan form to come up, now looking here, it only took about... 3 seconds XD

  • @iAfksz agreed the oozaru roar is what made this powerful other versions didnt have that.

  • I always wondered... if Number 16 ever got brought back to life by the DGballs?

  • love the random pidgey.

  • @pennolfc2 It is not random.

  • Cell Disliked this video -.-"

  • LMAO! Cell definitely has that "oh shit, what have I done" look at 1:28. His facial expression as well as Friezas when both Goku and Trunks transformed on him have stuck with me for years.

  • i keep watching this over and over again :)

  • the one person who disliked this video is bruce faulconer

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456 this video is awesome :D

  • im dont really like the japanese version that much but its scenes like this that beat the american version hands down

  • my skin goes SS when watching this:)

  • iv just watched the dragon ball Z kie version of this scean and its not as good diffrent music and a bit quicker to tis verison is better

  • the music for the american one is better

  • Cell game is my favorite part of DBZ , Gohan is incredible ! :)

  • The song sounds like David Bowie but Japanese

  • fro all memorable scenes here exceptionally japanese wins for me

  • I hate the japanese version, gohan and goku both sound like 10 year old girls

  • its better than english version

  • @SirWhite1994 they are meant to. goku is basically a naive manchild who kept the same voice as a kid, and actually he sounds more like a rough passionate old woman. gohan is the one sounding like a 10 year old. maybe cos HE IS 10!

  • american version SUCKS. thats all i got to say. original is always the best. everything is perfect and the music matches.

  • @dnwox Your kidding, right? I understand that you like the original version, that's cool! But no one in their right mind can tell me that the music in the original version matches dragon ball z. Their is no way in the world you can convince me that the all of the original music is better then the Funi version. That's just absurd.

  • @EAW56 This show isn't just about violence. It's so much more than that. Funimation didn't just ruin a great anime, it created the ignorance that is you

  • @daindom17 I think its ignorance for someone to say "american version SUCKS"

  • @EAW56 It's pure ignorance for the american fanboys to troll the japanese version , so you dubbies shouldn't even talk.

  • @PrinceofSaiyajins456 I wasn't trying to troll until someone started talking crap about the american version. I was actually thinking about watching the Japanese version since it was the original and all.

  • @EAW56 You are full of shit. All you've done on this video is say that the ORIGINAL music doesn't fit DBZ and say it as if it were fact. Kinda funny considering the fact that most of the scenes were styled to match the Japanese music.

  • @daindom17 If i'm full of shit then your the asshole it come's out of.

  • @EAW56 That's funny. I told you off, and all you can say to me is to reply to my first sentence.

  • Comment removed

  • @daindom17 Dude you didn't tell me anything except the fact that your a butt hurt sub fan because you saw someone who disagree's. I'm done arguing with you, you may argue with yourself now.

  • @EAW56 Not butthurt. Which version did the actors receive awards for their effort? Which composer is one of the most sought out Japanese composers for the past five decades and which one is bankrupt? Which version receives the most respect from dub fans across the world? I'm far from butthurt. I have such pride for the version I love and I am proud that it is the universally accepted version. Especially since it's the original. All you've provided is: "Jap sucks" and horrid comebacks to comments

  • Comment removed

  • @EAW56 Did I say English dub fans? No. I meant the real fans outside of the English world. God, the whole Dragon Ball world doesn't revolve around America

  • @daindom17 If you read over the chat log I never said the "Japanese version sucks".Please don't misquote me.

  • @EAW56 You didn't exactly say that, but it's a summary of all your other comments.

  • @EAW56 it's my opinion, not ignorance. what's ignorant is commmenting that goku sounds like a girl when he clearly doesn't

  • @EAW56

Seriously? Of course it's better. It fits so much more. The DBZ dub intro? "Dragonball, Dragonball, Dragonball Z?" That's better than the original Japanese intro? The intro that has been called One of the best intros in an anime ever? What do you mean it doesn't 'match'? What the hell does that even mean? No. See, the original is always, ALWAYS much, MUCH better. Naruto, for instance, in America they hate it. Why? Because they watch the fucking DUB.

  • @Pitchguest What do you mean? I like the original opening for dragonball z waaay better then rock the dragon. I just don't like the music they use for the fight scenes in the original DBZ.

  • @Pitchguest Same as Bleach. Cant stand the English version after watching one clip.

  • Damn, that last look on Gohans face is badass

  • next episode: CELL GETS PWND!!!!

  • I love this scene, it's amazing in both the English and Japanese versions.

  • I feel sorry for people who only watch the dub. They're completely missing out on what DBZ is really like. If you wanna watch DBZ in Japanese w/ English subtitles (how DBZ is meant to be seen) search "sxdxdbzv3". He's uploading all episodes the episodes in HD

  • @razzzorsedgeable Thanks i've been already searching for japanese version episodes the whole time well i found some but with english music.

  • i remember back in the days growing up in France, every kids of my generation will tell you this :"wenesday morning, it was DBZ ALL THE WAY" Damn! i remember the Cell saga. Cell is one of those badass!! And Gohan is potentially the strongest super sayan ever (besides Broly but i don't think we can compare them). I liked the Cell arc but the best one was the Freeza Arc, when Goku turned into Super Sayan, it's maybe one of the defining moments of my childhood.

    90's rules my friends

  • a great song for one of the greatest animes ever

  • I can't wait to see this all over again in Dragonball Kai!!

  • One of the best episodes and transformations eve!!!DRAGONBALLZ 4EVER !

  • Bruce Faulconer's music is the best... but I guess this version is OK...
