Yeah. Consider it voice leading. I don't do it all of the time. In all cases do what your ear tells you is best.

I can play this on the piano. Im just starting to learn how to play jazz on the guitar. How did you learn to play jazz on the guitar?

I started with piano music and a chord book. Guitar music is written an octave higher than piano. Anyway, I played the melody and added the chords to the bottom and kept the melody on top.

Over time I learned to re harmonize (chord substitution).

That's all there is to it!

Allan, I listened with great attention, you took some liberties here and there,re-harmonizing some own adaptable melodies that fit the chords,I like that, like that run you took before going to the bridge.interesting voicings,very relaxed,spacious sound full of warmth yet precise definition. Thanks Chris. TE is kicking my butt. I should have started working on finger style a long time ago. I can play several of his arrangements. I have to cheat and adapt them to flat-pick.
