dark side of the moon, sgt pepper, white album, abbey road, loveless, nevermind, siamese dream, ok computer, in rainbows, them crooked vultures... all perfect in their own way, as a whole album that you can listen to from start to finish and reflect on life

Slaughter in the Vatican, Blessed Black Wings and Vulgar Display of power are my picks for perfect albums. I couldn't say why in under three comments.

My favorite album ever is Quadrophenia, by The Who. I can relate to the album SO much and it really means a lot to me. Its a storyline about someone very similar to me in a musical format that is just outstanding! even though there is one song on there that I don't think is so great (drowned), it's okay because the album is about imperfection and there are several flaws in the album, which just makes it that more human.
There is no perfect in music because it is subjective. I'm sure Beehtoven is "more perfect" than Atmosphere but im not about to listen to him. A perfect album to me has only good songs, I've never heard an album where every song is great. Even most great albums have bad songs.
I kinda hate to say it, but Aenima. I know it's not hipster enough for a lot of people, but it is pretty perfect. The scope of the album is huge, the subject matter was untapped at the time, and it was oozing with originality, passion and vision.
Also there are many perfect albums on the planet, and at least one is almost every genre.
Are you kidding me? Everyones saying MBDTF is a perfect album? ...
Just because Pitchfork gave it 10/10 and Rolling Stone gave it 5/5, it doesn't mean it's a perfect album. By no means is that a perfect album. Musically, yeah, it's pretty great, but not perfect. And lyrically, It's no where near perfect
If you want to go with musically and lyrically amazing rap/hip hop albums, then why the hell hasn't anyone said Outkast?
When I say "perfect album" I dont mean that literally, I mean it is a 10/10 which means its an album that I enjoyed to an extent that is really rare. Here are some examples
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
Music Has The Right To Children by Boards of Canada
Is perfection good for music? I don't know, but as a skilled musician I enjoy music in which the technical and conceptual elements were well developed (or at least you can tell the musicians are trying?). To me, I can respect the punk thing, because I've taken the time to try to understand it, but I don't like it. Punk, from a technical perspective is liberating to musicians who aren't technically skilled, but it's limiting to musicians who are. But what do I know, I'm formally trained?

After several months of under appreciating background listening something clicked and I realised that The Winter Of Mixed Drinks by Frightened Rabbit is a close to perfect as I've experienced. Very likely now my favourite collection of music.
Close to the Edge by Yes is as close as I have gotten to a perfect album. The title track got me hooked on playing bass. Thank you, Chris Squire. Every instrumentalist in the band shows amazing musicianship throughout the tracks. It also has a lot of variety to me. In just the three songs so many emotions get evoked each time I listen. The vocals are beautiful and so are the lyrics. It's close to perfect in my opinion. Spiritual Healing by Death too... What do you think Mr. Fantano?
Music Has the Right to Children by Boards of Canada is probably the closest you will get to perfect in my opinion. It's not my favourite album, but it's the most flawlessly crafted piece of music I have experienced.
