From Texas, good mexican food is hard to find where I live now up north, so I make a lot of my own. This recipe looks wonderful, I am trying it tonight.
Do you have a video that shows how to make flour tortillas or corn tortillas from scratch?
I have always made the boxes of Spanish rice and enjoy it but as yet I have not found a recipe that taste as good, I would love a recipe I can make that is less expensive as a box of Spanish rice. I am going to try yours and hope it is full of flavor like the boxed one
this is also not mexican. you never stir mexican rice. its the hardest thing to make.like ever seriously.my mom says you cant get married until you learn to make mexican rice lol. its some hard stuff.
Just made it. I must, nice tutorial. :) The one thing, I wasn't sure how much olive oil to use but it came out nice. And I took off a little too early so there's leftover broth that gives it an unwanted greasy feel, but that's just my mistake. XD Gracias, la senorita simpatica. (Did I say that correctly?)
@PimmpDaddyCrystal So please tell us what would it take to make it Mexican Rice? Would we have to cut up a mexican and cook him in the rice? Please tell us....We are all ears....Idiot.
Good video, best Mexican rice video on the net.. You Rock Girl :) Thanks for sharing....
@xxtaurusladyxx I don't know what pot you are using but I find that the reason rice comes out mushy is because it has too much liquid. Maybe you can reduce the liquid by 1/8th of a cup and see how it goes. If you find you need a little more simply add it after you test it. Does this make sense? I hope you have a great day!
@1020Shane Some times your burner is not low enough and the liquid steams away too fast. In that case the rice will be a little hard. I have had stoves that are hard to regulate so I needed to keep a close eye on the rice and, yes, add a little more liquid. Sorry this was not perfect for you. Have a wonderful week!
WHAT IS THIS ? THIS IS NOT SPANISH RICE1 NOT BROWNED ENOUGH , WHERE IS THE GROUND COMINO? AND THE GREEN BELL PEPPER? CHICKEN BULLION? FRESH TOMATO ? SORRY
@fern3634 Thank you for coming by. I am happy you have your way of making your own rice. This is my way and it is very, very good. I never cook with boullion because it has MSG. Not good for you. Don't be sorry. It is great that the world has different ways of making things. Have a fantastic weekend!
@pastryparrot1 can this work with brown rice? Lately ive been on a diet and im substituting certain foods for healthy choices. Like wheat bread instead of white bread, so yea can you tell me if it will taste good with brown rice?
@thbklover2010 Chicken broth is like a chicken soup with only the concentrated liquid. No veggies or chicken. You can definitely only use water for this. The chicken stock gives it some flavor but you will be fine with the tomato. Thanks so much for coming by!
@refinnej2011 Go ahead and try it out with water. It will be fine. Make sure you adjust the salt. Thanks for coming by and good luck! Have a great week!
