  • Wow, it looks much smaller then today's Disneyland! But, it is fun to see what is looked when it opened. I just came home from Disneyland, anyway. :-)

  • You See EVERY RACE! So Next Time Don't Complain in Main street Doesn't Look Like Shiny Pearls below gold string. HAHAHAHAHA MANIACLE LAUGHTER

  • When Disneyland premiered the Sub ride, monorail and Matterhorn in 1959, it was considered a 'reopening' of sorts by the Disney Company. Those 3 attractions were the largest expenditures made at the park!

  • yeah but ur title say's disneyland '59 opening not '59 sub ride.

  • ummm DisneyLand opened in 1955 not 1959.

  • @Thunder2769 read da info...

  • Matterhorn under construction

  • "Crafts and skills near forgotten, were revived and put to use."

  • I wish I could have seen the whole video haha

  • I havent got the slightest idea why Euro Disneyland was built in Paris France and not in Southern Spain, like it was originaly intended. The climate in Southern Spain is like Southern California and the people are friendly and happier, the sun makes people happy and Southern Spain offers all that like our cousins In Southern California. In Paris the weather is horrible and dull nearly all the time. I was not impressed with EuroDisney at all.

  • Spain was considered, when they decided to build a park in Europe... but the zone around Paris was extremely well connected with most of central europe, and Paris is one of the most visited countries in Europe. The park is also very close to Roissy international Airport. The advantages were quite a lot... I do agree with you on the Spanish weather and spanish people :P they are a lot more funny and easygoing :D!!!!

  • Disneyland was planned to place in Belgium but Belgium goverment hold it back.

  • @micettinaire The French are very friendly if you make an attempt to speak French while in their country. We're not too terribly friendly with people who come here and refuse to speak English, either.

  • I've been to the one in paris & I agree the weather is so random, its like being like in britian, but if you time it just right you get the Southern California weather :D

  • Well i went in the summer, the weather was like the floridian weather and I love Disneyland Paris, but i do agree in some ways, but they were certain they were going to build it in spain, but when they drilled down into the ground at the chosen site in spain, they found solid rock, so they could not build the foundations for the buildings, so the easiest option was to go to marne la vallee in paris, the second chosen site.

  • 1st of all: cooooool.

2nd: why was Walt patting and rubbing the dude's moobs??

  • lol 2:46 disneyland iwo jima moment

  • lol!

  • Is the Nelson family part of this uploaded anywhere?

  • aw, was that ricky nelson??

  • yep, it was...

  • OO wow, the sailing ship columbia looks different nowadays! i betcha they did some remodeling to use it for Fantasmic.

  • awesome..

and well if u dont count '55 it is 4 years

    i love disneyland!

  • hey!!! disneyland opened in 1955, not '56! so technically it was celebrating it's 5th annaversary, not it's 4th!!!

  • It's technically 4 years because the 5th year had barely started. People have been doing it for years, can't you count?

  • disnyland opened in 1955

  • Whwen Disneyland had their very first opening day, southern California was experiencing a heat wave. The park concession ran out of cold drinks, and the freshly poured concrete was still not dry that people were walking on. Some of the rides and attractions were not working properly either. It was chaos.

But neverthess, I'd still choose Disneyland over Disney World. Because if you truly want the authentic Walt Disney experience and the nostalgia, then you go to Anaheim and not Orlando.

  • yeah, disneyland is classic disney and disney world is new disney...both are extremely fun though. its the same for universal studios, the authentic and better one is in anaheim.

  • I agree... after living in FLA and going to WDW many times (and having not seen DL since I was a wee one), the first time I went BACK to DL I cried when I saw the castle. I said aloud, "This castle is soooo much better to me than the Cinderella castle." My oldest daughter agreed, for pink is her favorite color! It's really because of the history of the park, though. It's easier to get around, too!

  • yeah, Disneyland has that "special touch" because Walt Disney built Disneyland himself. plus, Disneyland's a bigger part of my childhood, so i'd choose Disneyland rather than Disney World. but if i'm planning a really big trip for like two weeks, then Disney World is a MUST for my priorities.

  • where did you get this??

  • i like the shot of the pirate ship with the castle in front. 2:28.

  • which one is park or story?

  • i find it on ebay which one ? there are 7 you got top or bottom?

  • whichever one says "disneyland usa"

  • where i get disneyland treasure dvd?

  • this one is out of print, but you can find copies on ebay.

  • where you get theses?

  • I THINK it was from the DIsneyland Treasures dvd

  • Thanks for sharing!
