  • Sing Coppertone!

  • Superb!!!

  • Parecer ser mejor en esta version... I love the opera.... Culturizandome.. osea

  • Impressed Sarah Palin can sing this well.

  • @cto10121Nana was classically trained, and it has always shown whether singing a "pop" song or a classical piece1 thank you for posting this lovely track!

  • Nice version. I'm surprised and astonished about her clear and fresh voice. But this is no opera, it's friendly folk music.

  • @drabosius

Please... take a look at Charles Bizet's Opera "Carmen"... "Habanera" is one of the main acts...

  • beatiful voice but lack of passion

  • o voce teribila! Adi din romania

  • She's better then Maaria Callas!!!

  • i dont know why.. but i do not like this version at all..

  • most enjoyable

    great singing

    excellent

    noball12

  • Amazing voice :x:x

  • Nana Mouskouri started training as a opera/classical singer initially and that is why she is doing such a great job here. She just did not walk on the set and started singing this masterpiece as a pop singer! This is not to take any credit away from her, not at all. Just simply a fact.

  • @sufr50

    Absolutely.... Maria

  • I love how she doesn't super pronounce the final -e's in the song. So many singers do it and it sounds awful.

  • Marvellous rendition by Nana. Love her voice and a great fan of hers. Have listened to this song by Carmen Monarcha (with Andre Rieu) which well performed by Carmen. Greetings from Sri Lanka!!!

  • ahahaha im think lady gaga wants to sing this song..

  • Exellent

  • I ENJOY THIS SONG,SHE DOES IT VERY WELL,SHE NOT TRYING TO BE CALLAS GET A GRIP

  • SOPRANO!!! she's a great singer, but Carmen isn't in her repertoire!

  • im impressed though i didn't understand any word except je t'aime et la mour :D

  • i love her french accent she's the best

  • Nana Mouskouri sings this in a beautiful French, with the French accent, unlike most singers who have terrible foreign accent when singing French.

  • @mzamir100 true. seems very nice, although I'm not a native french speaker.

  • @mzamir100 I actually like the errr... "exotic tone" given to the song by foreigners. After all, Carmen isn't French! Fact is - I am French btw - this version sounds a bit weird, she sings without much passion and it all sounds a bit dull, like a cheesy romantic song. The Hell! It is supposed to be about the burning fire of passion! Carmen sings about love while lusting on Don José, this song is a tease... I do not see anything like that in this version :(

  • @ungarsdu38

nana in fact speaks a beautiful french and sings perfectly.... Carmen in fact is Spanish but the all opera is in french ... why put the blame on Nana... la Callas sing with passion but her french is terrible as well as other languages we use to hear her. Nobody can compair the passion from la Callas but the softness of Nana is remarkable.... and it reaches all the people who cannot go the opera ... So why asking for more....

  • @mariasaraiva I am not blaming Nana for her French! What I'm saying is 1. she sings this song without passion ; 2. others that sing the song in poorer French can do a very good (and better) job, if they bring it to life. "why asking for more" ? I ALWAYS ask for more! 'Enough' doesn't exist!

  • @ungarsdu38 Of course she can't., Nana has no wild character as Carmen supposed to be and she is no actress.

  • @ungarsdu38 Check out Leontyne Price's version. Long time ago but unsurpassed.

  • @ungarsdu38 - While I do like your comment, I disagree with it. This song is most definitely a tease that is eventually directed at Don Jose' - she has no burning passion for anything but herself and her games of love and lust. When he falls within her sights, the song begins to shift in his direction, but it is and will remain one long tease.

  • @ungarsdu38 I have to agree with you about this version - 'tho' I still love the voice! She sang it in a much more operatic way when I saw her in person...

  • @mzamir100 ur right I like her English and French. She is simply educated.

  • @mzamir100 The thing is that in an opera theater, a real, big, no-microphone opera theater, the french "r" (or "gggr") cannot be heard properly. So the mezzosopraonos singing Carmen, even french the mezzosopranos, in order to be heard and understood, rolle their "r's", pronouncing them in the italian-spanish way. But Carmen is from Sevilla, so that shouldn't be a problem.

  • hermosa interpretación y con estilo muy particular

  • Sorry but I dislike her singing

  • Not quite right, is it Nana? Stick to singing your popular songs that you do so well. Opera is out of your league.

  • I wan to meet this lady. I love her too much, so much. My gos, her voice, i cant comprehend. Whether in English, French, German, welsh, Greek. You name it. I just love her so much.

  • Surprise, surprise.

  • She does have the voice of an angel and this is a great pop rendition of Habanera, but isn't it a tad too syrupy for someone who is actually expressing a threat ('if I love you, you'd best beware!')?

  • She uses the ideal amount of femininity in her voice. tres beau

  • very.very good.

  • What do you mean, cto10121? She studied opera at the Conservatory of Music in Athens. Her professor wouldn't let her sit for her final because she sang jazz or whatever in public! Wonder how many times he kicked himself for that! ! ! BUT, isn't the rest of the world pleased with his lack of judgment though! LOL!

  • @gmaenglish1

There is also the story that when she first sang in Greek nightclubs in the 1960s, the famous opera diva, Maria Callas came to her dressing room after her performance and told her that she would become very, very famous.

  • Beautiful

  • sampled in something cant put my finger on it!

  • angelical voice

  • Wonderful!

  • Glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • I still do ;)
