  • i remember seeing this on the Disney channel in early 2000, they probably will not show these anymore, its all Hannah Montana shit now.

  • Ward Kimball was a hardcore railfan, I would have loved to meet him. Everything from Grizzlyflats is now at the Orange County railroad museum.

  • i would love talking to this guy

  • I lived two streets away from him in Temple City and actually got to ride the train a couple of times. It's so nice to see this film, it really brings it all back!

  • @resa80 That's amazing! I wish I could have met him before, he seems so awesome!

  • Ward Kimball was bigger train enthusiast than I when I was a kid

  • Toot = brass, whistle = woodwind, plunk = strings and boom = percussion.

  • 05:34

Just like music in my ears!

That bell, steam trains whistling and other "old-fashioned" railroading sounds makes me cry happy tears! :´)

  • The footage from Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom looks very different.

  • This is a real treat to see. I wish I could have met Ward Kimball. Anyway, they've torn down Grizzly Flats. I don't know what they've done with the train parts, but I'm pretty sure they haven't scrapped anything. I think they gave the stuff away.

  • In 1990, the Kimballs announced the donation of their Grizzly Flats Railroad to the Orange Empire Railway Museum. The Emma Nevada, Coach 5, and three freight cars were moved to the Museum.

  • My mom's friend is the engineer of the Emma Nevada.

  • @CartoonFan56 oh no, it wasn't torn down, his house and the whole property is still intact, currently for sale, the tracks were torn up though. the engine house and firehouse still stand. the locomotives, Chloe and Emma, and rolling stock went to the Orange Empire railroad museum.

  • You can see his train tracks from the Google satellite map. Look near E. Ardendale Ave and Sultana Ave. East Camino Real dead-ends into his property from the other side.

  • We lived on Duarte Road and Ward lived on E. Ardendale Ave In 1960 my older brothers found Ward's trains when taking a short-cut on the way home from school and Ward put them to work cleaning the train's brass with kerosene and rags.

  • We moved from San Gabriel in 1962 to the San Diego area and eventually to Oregon. After all these years I finally get to see them again! That short era in my life has always been one of my happiest because we lived near Disneyland and life was good as a little boy.

  • OMG, I just stumbled upon these videos! I can't believe Ward is showing off his Firehouse 5 (7:23 min). In 1961 when I was 5, I was standing in front of the little red barn doors posing for a picture with Ward. It was for the cover of his Horseless Carriage Gazette magazine.

  • ward kimvell lived down the street from me in emple city Ca

  • get that bloody toad. in reality the bullets hitting the boiler. would not be good. this is why we don't teach toads how to run trains. their stupid.

  • what i would give, to have the emma nevada and her coach. oh man, that would be awsome. and that bell does sound awsome

  • Thanks for posting this. I remember seeing it on the Disney Channel back in the 80's (when the Disney Channel was still actually about WALT Disney and his cohorts ... they used run great stuff like this Disney Famil Album)

  • Ward Kimball! One of my idols!

  • Ward Kimball was just the best!!! Anyone know more about Wolfgang Reitherman? Just curious...

  • I wonder why cookedart didn't upload this part?
