  • buy a serious bike, not a bathtub

  • @Ryosaeba24 what is your idea of serius bike?

  • @tyfeonas a ducati 1198 R thats a serious bike

  • you should know that its "unhealthy" to accelerate when the vario is opened it will bend the crank trust me my friend got his piston jammed because of this

  • ah ma alla fine non gli dai fuoco? che palle!

  • Actually that's the clutch... the variator cannot be seen from here...

  • @lopeg400 wrong.

    this is the variator.

the clutch on the t-max is wet (inside the oil of the motor) and it is located to the other side of the motor.

  • @tyfeonas Hey, how exactly does the clutch work on the tmax? Is it a centrifugal clutch? Or is it like the torque converter in an automatic car?

  • @forrest225 it is like any other wet clutch from a bike with the difference that it haves 6 rollers that push the discs when the rpms are gone up.

in order to stay disengage the are 6 litle sprigns that hold the discs apart.

  • @tyfeonas yes, lol you're right, usually in scooters the variator is hidden, and the cluch is located there... sorry xD

  • @lopeg400 huh... the one on my minibike functions as a centrifugal clutch as well, it simply needs some rpm before the input pulley engages the belt at all,

  • @lopeg400 rofl idiot do u even knwo what a vario looks like and a clutch looks like? HAHAHAH u will do great in life im sure xd lmao i laughed my ass off when i saw his comment xd

  • @lopeg400 they way u add the ... on the end of ur failness xd lol man thats epic xd

  • holy shit

  • it's a t-max yamaha?

  • the engine is 500cc....on this scooter

  • Now that is a real scooter :D, that engine must be huge! Honda has brought out something like a 1200cc CVT bike, it looks like a sports bike with a V-twin engine, but it has no gear lever :D

  • it has a variator... how could be a 1200cc bike?

the biggest engine scooter with variator is 650cc maybe!

  • The biggest engined scooter is the Gilera GP800.

839cc, V-twin (a first for a scooter) but chain driven back wheel. Probably a variator in there somewhere.

  • You're thinking of the Honda DN-01. It has the same 700cc engine as the Deuville/Transalp

  • lol my wifes car has the same system!

  • idk how does it moving do anything idk can someone tell me how that works to make you move?

  • how many cc is this bike?

  • 499cc

  • @tyfeonas not including the cc of framework and body kits, tire, lights, seats...etc

  • @gcsjulian 500cc

  • Thanks for the example! 5*

  • same thing as a snowmobile

  • a lot of my questions have been answered i have always wonderd how my snowmobile can go so fast and have such good acceleration without shifting thanks!

  • so what makes the front plates contract is the roller weights? Does the rear variator also rely on rollers or does it open as a result of the contracting front plates?

  • yes . the rollers move far from the centre and the geometry of the variatior force to close the fornt plates.

the rear variator have a spring tha hold the plate full closed.

when the front variator close , the force opens the rear variator and the spring cloce.

  • james you are correct there is a washer inbetween the back part, if u take it off you should be able to see it, take the back part to bit pull the washer off and reassemble it. when you hear the word 'derestricted' or 'unrestricted' this is the main thing that they do to 'derestict' them plus chaging the exhaust this fool saying u will damage your scooter doesnt know what day it is, ask any garag or scooter dealer they will explain more clearer than i have. hope i helped :)

  • cheers 4 the advice dude. hav got this done now and cut the pipe of the exhaust. bought a new spark plug the other day too. now goes about 50mph on flat. almost keeps up with my mates who have sports pipes (:

  • if i take off the washers in the variator, will my scooter go faster?

can someone please help me? thanks.

  • wich washers do you mean?

  • im not sure :L

someone sed about it on a web page i was on, and i wondered if it was right?

    any help?

or are there no washers? :S

  • everything that is on the variator from the factory is critical for the operation of it.

you can not remove anything and make it go better without make a very good damage and maybe injure yourself.

if you have a stock variator change it with some aftermarket like polini or malossi.

you will see a big diffrence in the acceleration.

  • thanks

  • Now now, some scooters indeed do have a washer between the two plates to prevent the full movement of the variator and that can be removed.

  • best way to blow ur engine!

running at full revs with no resistance!

    lol

  • the yamaha engines dont have that kind of problems

    :)

  • What do you mean by that.

That the washer can be removed on a Yamaha without wrecking it?

  • i think it talks about a 50cc scooter.

    not the t-max

  • file moy einai dinaton egw poy eimai erasitexnhs na allaksw imanta monos sto scooteraki moy (nrg 50cc)

  • no that's is the tmax 500

  • interesting, didn't realise they moved inwards like that..

  • Centrifugal power !

  • nice :P

  • thank you guys :)

  • niceee

  • nice thanx

  • nice!

  • thanks! :)

  • great job! that's all i looking for at moment well done m8
