  • "Unique looking cooler"...

Looks like every other Hyper 212+ derivative... lol

  • @stalker7d7

The CCF predates the Hyper 212+ lol

  • @cardboardsnail Good point. It's even funnier than, how the CCF get's better temps than the Hyper 212+, at a cheaper price.

  • can i add another fan?

  • Awesome review, I know its kind of late. commenting a year after lol but thank so much for the awesome review

  • does this core freezer supports new processors like the intel i7? thanks. great review.

  • i have the same cpu and im 69c max on stock heatsink.

  • @imafurryhusky That is 8c higher than the highest rated temp for the 9950! The stock heatsink will not suffice. I had the stock on long enough to get into windows to check my temps and was at 62c on a cold boot so I shut down and slapped my Zalman 9700 on it and had much more normal temps. Due to the 9950 causing my PSU to produce to much heat for my already hot room I have went back to my X2 6400.

  • Yo good vid just wanted to know if a core contact freezer is better or zalman 9700LED is better for my phenom ii 925.

  • same in COOLER MASTER HYPER 212, Cool Man!!

  • Thats not right, if theres 2 fans next to eachother blowing in different directions, theyll have to compete to blow the air, and I have my fan blowing towards my video card, and it helps cool it from the bottom.

  • Nice video, the only thing I thought was odd, is that you set up the CPU fan to blow away from the rear exhaust fan. The gap that was there would likely have the 2 fans fighting each other for air. The temps were a bit high for an HSF of that size.

It looked to be only a couple inches from the rear of the case, I think it would have been more efficient to put the CPU fan on the other side blowing backward. You should give it a try in the other orientation and check your temps.

  • Hi, you are mistaken, I set the CPU fan to blow out the case. There are 2 fans blowing air out, one at the top and one at the rear, I have it pointing to the rear not the top.

  • Ahh, apologies. From the review it really sounded like you had the cpu fan blowing forward (away from the back) and then up through the top fan.

    Cheers :)

  • @PCWizKid ...

In video: "through the fins here, and then out the other side and then out the top of the case"

You implied (and it lookes) that you had it sucking air from the rear, and blowing it through to the other side, hoping for it to be sucked out the top.

You did not set the cpu fan to blow out of the case... Azriel is correct, your cpu fan and rear fan are going to have problems sucking air from the narrow gap between them, assuming you didn't lie about the rear being exhaust too?

  • it looks like a good cooler but those temps are crap for such a big thing, my little crappy thermaltake keeps mine at 31-34 idle, but mine is just a dual core so who knows

  • the processor he was reviewing is a 65nm ... and that is very good temp for that processor ... if u put this cooler on a 45nm processor ... it is a monster

  • thank you, i figured there was something i overlooked

  • good ty

  • Is that the Asus M3A78-T?

If so, am I correct to assume that the HSF will not fit in such a way where the fan blows toward the rear of the case?

  • Actually you can turn it around to face it that way if you want yes.

  • Was thinking of picking up the cooler and wasn't sure if it fits this mobo... Thanks!

  • thats a nice cooler but xpensive i wanna overclock my core i7 920 to 3 ghz stable and safe seems like stock cooler will not cut it any cooler u recommend? thankyou very mutch

  • how is this cooler expensive, its very cheap

  • well actully 1 dollar is xpensive for me since im flat broke after this pc built so yea

  • what specs did you get? you cant be that broke

  • im 15 years old i got a pc wourth 1800 dollars i ow my dad 500 dollars no more money flat broke

  • it looks like a nice cooler

i might go with that and a phenom2 not phenum 2.

  • i dislike sunbeam the case are bland I know i got one i'm gunna mod it out though.

  • the heatsink i dont like akasa is better

  • I love this cooler too

The fan clips are a bit annoying though

  • I have this heatsink. Does not work well with the Asus P5N-E SLI (650i)+E8400 Impossible to fit without damaging the motherboard. This is an excellent review by the way. Be warned, just make sure the heatsink fits your motherboard.

  • What? I have this cooler installed on the exact same motherboard and I had absolutely no clearance issues with other components. I call shenanigans.

  • How? It makes direct contact with the motherboard heatsink.

  • It could be making contact due to the orientation you have it installed. I had tried the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro before this, but I had to return it due to the exact issue you're talking about - the CPU heatsink touching the northbridge heatsink - but this one doesn't have problems with it.

  • Do you have it positioned so air exits through the rear of the case?

  • Sure do. My Antec P180 pulls air in from the top to the CPU, then the CPU heatsink pushes it out the back (not pulls, so the fans closer to the front)

  • Well if it works for you. It should work for me. Thanks so much for your help. I'll try installing again soon.

  • Nice review =)

I'm not sure if it was mentioned somewhere, but when you ran the benchmarks was your Phenom OC'ed or was it stock?

    -Thanks in advance!

  • Overclocked @ 3Ghz

  • i tryed using the core temp software you used i googled it my temp is 50 cel is that normal '

now its about 53 what should i do to decrease that the asus epu engine is running at auto not turbo or anything just auto and thats my normal temp is that dangerus

  • actually its not dangerous yes its a bit high but still ok, you should watch out if you play games (if you do) because it may gets a lil bit to high. If you want to play the newest games you should swap your cooler

  • then how come its abit high is it normal with a stock cooler to get those degrees

  • i dont think its normal but i also never used a stock cooler, if you want to get sure swap it with a arctic cooling freezer(costs about 20)

  • You mean those temps arent high? I have a dell E521 with an AMD athlon64 X2 dual core 5000+ 2.60ghz and at idle my temps are usually under 30c *usually about 27-29*, regular use brings it to about 35c and under load with normal games its about 45c, tho with games like crysis.. Ive seen it his 52c.. these are still decent temps then? I was getting a little worried that I needed better cooling for it.

  • that the CPU btw I was talking about

  • I think you missed the point. I am using a Quad Core 125 Watt CPU. Your athlon64 X2 is a 65Watt CPU, for sure yours is going to run cooler. You cannot compare it with mine.

  • oh my bad, I dont know enough about this stuff, I just based my temps against what you said yours are

  • Xbox 360 needs one of these babies. lol

  • good review...

  • Thanks you for posting this man! I really loved it and I'm gonna use it in my new computer which I'm gonna build up soon and hope you help me with some stuff.

  • Great review!

  • Another nice review. The shots of it on the motherboard is pretty nice; not many reviewers do it. With this, we can see how truly massive the HS is. The visual of how much thermal paste you really need is another nice touch.

Keep up the good work :)

  • Thank you, I appreciate your feedback!

    cheers

  • what is your computer going to run?

  • Not in this case, this attachment for the RPM control is set for you to adjust only. You can connect the fan directly to the motherboard and that will do what you want.

  • cool!!

  • Can u put two fans for a push pull setup?

  • No, the heatsink is not setup to attache another fan on the opposite side, you would have to improvise on your own somehow.

  • Nice review

  • why did you put the fan at the back

  • The Fan mounts on on side of the heatsink, and touched the memory modules so I had to use the other side which is ok also since I have the top fan sucking air out. Doesnt make a big difference in my case.

  • Hi, the point of the manual control is so you can tweak it the way you want it and not the motherboard. The motherboard provides the power only in this case.

  • have the same cooler and soon the same videocard (already ordered) :D

can u overclock to 3,5GHz and run Prime?

I want to know how hot it's going then!

  • again thanks 4 sharing!!

  • great review!

  • Damn. Nice. I might be tempted to get one of those for myself.

  • What camera do you use to record your videos?

  • jeah this is what i'm talking about, but maybe you explain me the airflow of the whole case in a pm if you like.

but nice vidat all, I'm looking forward to youre next review!

    cya

  • Love your reviews mate, but where do you get the money to buy all this? Do you pay for it?

  • He gets them from the companies that make them...they sort of sponsor him

  • I love your hardware review videos, theyre really professional.

  • what do like better AMD or intel ?

  • AMD Phenom FTW!!

  • AMD is awesome. Intel is 2nd awesome haha

  • amd= budget

    intel= performance

    * dont get me wrong amd can very well deliver performance, but for BETTER performance if u have the extra cash to spend, intel is the way to go

  • u cant compare 2 companies with each other .. u must say the Model u want .. ex. phenom vs core 2 quad ....

  • That thing is a beast...

So is that processor...a 3 GHz Quad core proc? In the words of Doc Brown, "Great Scott!"

  • that thing looks gigantic.

  • Gz for first, and good for not saying first, :S

  • lol np?
