@BAwithBALLS it's a vy calais with a factory l67, when I had just a 87mm pulley, I'd run equal to a 5.4, now with my 3.7 lsd, up from 3.08 open centre, I destroy them. So i've spent $950 on a diff and $170 on a pulley, when the next load goes in ($2000~ for my stage 3 cam, supporting mods, headwork and tune) It'll be even more of a humiliation. Although, I will admit with the same amount of money put into a 5.4 it would most likely have the upper hand and i'm ok with that haha.

Yes. It is funny. But fact is that the BA and the VY were (are) direct competitors in the day. It would be like saying that you can't compare a VTII SS to an AUI XR8 - you should have ran a BA XR8 against it. But yeah, even a VZ would get done - I know. I have a VZ company car inflicted upon me!!! The 4.0 litre I6 is a bloody brilliant engine - especially in 24v DOHC Turbo form!
Even if it was an "S" it would still get done. The "S" gets no more power than the povo pack. Unless you opt for the supercharger and even then, the S/C motor is still only an even match for the 4.0 litre DOHC Falcon motor in naturally aspirated form. The BA XR6 has no more power than an XT (with a little more weight) so it's fair game IMO. If it was a turbo - different kettle of fish.
The ba xt is actually faster down the quarter than the ba xr6 even with the diff ratio difference (xr6 3.46 XT 3.08) due to the extra kilos. my xr6 N/a gets done by the Xt. And wheels mag rated the Xt at 15.1 and the XR6 at 15.3 my Xr6T. A VZ Sv6 is also rated at 15.3 and VY S is around 15.6.
supercharged Vy at my work has run a 15.2 at A.I.R. in SA and its only got a otr Cold air kit.

I have driven both plenty of times, It's not hand down it's not one sided, It's poverty packs vs poverty packs, Ford wins, Sports you would be surprised at how much better the 190-195 motor goes.

Yes. It is funny. But fact is that the BA and the VY were (are) direct competitors in the day. It would be like saying that you can't compare a VTII SS to an AUI XR8 - you should have ran a BA XR8 against it. But yeah, even a VZ would get done - I know. I have a VZ company car inflicted upon me!!! The 4.0 litre I6 is a bloody brilliant engine - especially in 24v DOHC Turbo form!

Even if it was an "S" it would still get done. The "S" gets no more power than the povo pack. Unless you opt for the supercharger and even then, the S/C motor is still only an even match for the 4.0 litre DOHC Falcon motor in naturally aspirated form. The BA XR6 has no more power than an XT (with a little more weight) so it's fair game IMO. If it was a turbo - different kettle of fish.

Bottom line - Falcon 6's have, are and (at least until 2010) always will be better than Holden 6's (and depending on model - Holden V8's).

The ba xt is actually faster down the quarter than the ba xr6 even with the diff ratio difference (xr6 3.46 XT 3.08) due to the extra kilos. my xr6 N/a gets done by the Xt. And wheels mag rated the Xt at 15.1 and the XR6 at 15.3 my Xr6T. A VZ Sv6 is also rated at 15.3 and VY S is around 15.6.
supercharged Vy at my work has run a 15.2 at A.I.R. in SA and its only got a otr Cold air kit.

Ok hang on a sec. I have a stock VR Commodore Exec, 1995 to be precise. The other car was my wifes cousins 'fleet' 2005 Falcon XT. He said to me im going to beat you so i showed him, and said to him that if he was to beat me that i was to burn my Commodore right there where it would get beaten. So i guess i proved him wrong there. Oh and it was a take off from lights.

unless you have worked that VR or the bloke driveing the ba was slightly damaged and couldn't find the accelerator your talking out your arse. VR 5.0Ltrs are gutless the BA 4.0ltr does around low to flat 15's vr ss's only just pull these times.

~138 kilowatt buick wat an experience.....not! for starters it was shit, secondly it was shit n thirdly unless its a 5.0L in which case not his tlkin about, its not gonna come close to the 182KW BA ESSPECIALLY if its manual as i have also driven that n i'd lay $1000 bucks on it stock for stock the BA would shit it in.
