nice rendering, but I think you have the Headlights wrong and the Grill is not nearly Aggressive enough, it looks like the Grill from a first genration CTS.
I wonder how many potential Caddy buyers care which wheels drive the car. Rwd out performs fwd in drag racing and through the "twisties". Those are two categories I doubt most luxury car buyers even care about.
Cadillac should come out with a XTS, XTS Platinum and a XTS Platinum Fleetwood. model. The fleetwood model should be for buyers who still love the long and wide body of the old Deville concord and Fleetwood Broham body. These cars should be fitted with hybird engine and get good gas milege.
I don't even know what to say accept that you expect that all Cadillac's/AMERICAN cars should be like European Cars....guess what my OLD Buick isn't and I am proud of that because today My LeSabre and a brand new Mercedes Benz S Class were racing a light...mind you a light and not each other...there is a pretty bad dip in this intersection and that Mercedes Bottomed out like a European bitch it is...My OLD Buick needing shocks bad in the back...Floated Across not bottoming out once.
Make the back longer and you're almost spot on. You're right about FWD, they're targeting people too old to drive with this car, where if they took the concept, shrank the back a little, made it RWD or AWD, removed the hybrid that no luxury car buyer is going to give a shit about and added a v8 option, BMW and Mercedes would be trying to catchup to Cadillac!
I wish that Cadillac and Lincoln would entertain the retro theme that has been so successful of late. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger... how about a Deville or Fleetwood Brougham with a 120-125" wheelbase? Lots of chrome, cornering and opera lamps, trumpet horn, wire wheel covers, concealed headlights... I would be in Heaven! Couldn't you imagine all of these old school features with current technonlogy (nav, rear camera, blind spot monitoring...). I would buy, without a doubt!
it looks like a camry or prius. i hope it does not look like this. cadillacs cars has always presented a bold look in their vehicles. this car does not have that bold look. nice picture but title is misguiding.
@ChevyCruze Cadillac, rear wheel drive...............? Ummm its built in Detroit and driven in New York............Yeah All Wheel Drive..............Duh. I can't buy anything with out some form of it anyways. Rear wheel drive is the worst in winter actually. Then comes front wheel, then all wheel then 4 wheel. Maybe its because you want it "sporty"............................some of us actually want things that we can own drive and use lol....................
I love what they did with it, but I didn't like the exterior body a lot, because it looks similar to other GM cars which i found a bit cheap for a premium cadillac :\
yours kinda looks more aggressive and "pricy" which is a must for a premium car.
Government should not interfere with the auto industry to the point where they have to cancel original plans for a vehicle. But as it seems the LaCrosse platform is actually one of the best in the GM line up and also if Buick is any proof the most reliable.
I think this car is fine. It's beautiful and I don't mind the rear overhang of the concept. The S-class and 7 series are great cars -they're not designed as well- but when I look at them or hear about them some of the features they have seem...pointless. I don' t think as far as features go this car will touch either BMW or Mercedes but for people who don't want to pay $100,000 but want luxury car will buy this car.
I agree...this car DEFINITELY should have been RWD first, with all-wheel drive built in to satisfy the buyers worried about driving in the snow. This is a piss-poor effort from GM....and cowardly as well. Where's the big sedan to compete with BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus? Where the fuck is it? No, Caddy pushes out a new version of the same car they already have! The 6.2L V-8 with 403 hp should have been the engine. I admit, I love the styling, but the rest of the car is a chicken-shit execution.
@daniel41dan It needs to be rear wheel drive or rear wheel drive why make the car if you are not going to do it right. Front wheel drive can''t not compete with the big boys. We now Caddy can make a car that competes look at the CTS-v
I definitely get the whole desire for a RWD halo car but there are many of us who couldn't afford something anywhere near an S-class and who would like something like an updated DTS or a slightly larger more luxurious STS. Something very big and American and semi affordable with semi-decent mileage that isn't a Grand Marquis. Maybe there's a market for large affordable luxury that isn't totally outdated and lame but that doesn't have to be super performance.
LMAO!

If this car is indeed a Hybrid, AWD is fine. If Cadillac dares to stick a conventional V-6 in this car AWD is the wrong way to go.

Now, Are you listening GM? (you go belly-up, get bailed out with taxpayer's money, and you're still called "GM"; why that has to be is beyond me)
