I would also recommend for your list (if they're not on it already) the intro theme from Secret Of Mana as well as the Dark Lich and Mana Beast battle themes from the same game, The Final Day theme from Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask and the Magus battle and Ocean Palace themes from Chrono Trigger. There's so much to choose from, really!

Ahh....English horn playing the same theme that the recorder does in the intro, complete with the major sixth scale tone (Dorian mode).
