Have you ever read the Nicene Creed?! There was a heresy in the 200's & 300's. The heresy was called 'Arianism', named after Arius who denied the divinity of Christ. The creed is long, so I'll just quote a couple of sentences, but you need to educate yourself. "...Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten by the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, BEGOTTEN, NOT MADE, one in being with the Father. etc. etc. Maybe you can Google "Nicene Creed" and learn.

They don't believe in the Trinity, the Divinity of Jesus Christ, which is basic to Christianity. They believe in the heresy called Arianism. It was started in the 300's by Arius. He spread the heresy that Jesus Christ was not divine, that he was created by God, which is NOT Trinity. The heresy spread and Emperor Constantine called all the Christian leaders.
@kontrabombarde32 The meeting was called the Council of Nicea (the name of the city where they gathered). For over 2 years they discussed the heresy of Arianism which claimed that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was CREATED by God, and not BEGOTTEN, which is against the Christian belief. Hence the Nicean Creed which settled the matter once and for all, that Jesus Christ was "begotten, not made". Mormons believe he was made, not begotten, therefore it's impossible for them to be Christians.

Then just don't assume, "Oh, OK, they believe in Christ, so they must be Christian". Ask them, "What is your definition of Jesus Christ?' They will say that He is the Son of God, He died for our sins." Then ask them, "Was He created by God or was He begotten by God?' They'll tell you He was Created. Bingo! They just denied the Trinity, so, not Christian.

Also the burning of the bosom feeling is the confirmation from God that it is true. Otherwise he would have had a stupor of thought if it wasn't. He very well could have misinterpreted the feeling.
I can see a contradiction in his testimony. He says he prayed to God to know if it was true. He also says when he was that young he didn't believe in Jesus. Well having faith in Christ is one of the requirements of the promise. Also, he says he did this when he was what, 11 or younger? The promise also states that you have to read and ponder the Book of Mormon first. I hate to be judgmental about it, but I HIGHLY doubt a little 11 year old or younger kid truly understanding everything.

The promise at the end of the Book of Mormon states that if it's true you will receive a 'Burning of the Bosom' and if it isn't true then you will be in a stupor of though. So if he received the 'Burning of the Bosom' it doesn't mean it isn't true, it means it is. He misinterpereted the confirmation.
Its funny this young man Zach gives a great testimony. Not a word of blame concerning the lds church for his personal problems. He simply and sincerely question its teachings as a whole. An overwhelming majority of people that leave the Mormon church feel a sense of guilt. A lot of people are not willing to truly devote themselves to following the teachings. Laziness sets in...which leads to guilt. And ultimately, they talk themselves out of believing in anything. The other group are people that have broken a commandment of some sort and feel guilty. Instead of confronting their challenge(s) they simple run and blame the church for all of their problems. Pretty common.

In the Book of Mormon it gives a promise that all those who will read it, pray about and then "ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you. I'm not sure about your intent or sincerety of heart but you were certainly missing the key ingredient-faith in Christ-since you said that you didn't even believe in him. I just have one thing to say. Assume there's a God and there's Satan, and that there really is only ONE true church of God. Assume that Satan is the enemy of God, and wants to tear down anything that would build the kingdom of God. If that were true, then Satan would use any means necessary to tear down this one true church, including people of different beliefs.

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is the full title. The book of Mormon works in collaboration with the Bible to testify of Christ's divinity and ministry on the Earth, it doesn't work against what the Bible says. It supports it.

Also, Does it matter what is commonly accepted? It was commonly accepted before the renaissance that the earth was flat, but that doesn't mean that it was. The English language didn't exist in Biblical times. It only makes sense that some things were lost in translation. Therefore, a few things in the English Bible SHOULDN'T make sense and should be questioned.

Why not Paul say, "out of the mouth of one witness is every word established." Yet, Paul speaks of more than one witness to establish God's word.
Why? Simple, more than one witness is each a witness and a support to what has been said. Obviously, Paul is correct. God's word is supported by two or three.

Actually there is no scripture any place that says 'Trinity'. It is a false concept. How else could Jesus be baptized AT THE SAME TIME as witnesses testify they heard God's voice from heaven AT THE SAME time as those same witnesses saw the Holy Ghost descend upon Jesus? And who would Jesus be praying to in the Garden and otherwise if He was also God? The reason for all the contradictions is due to the Catholic church in conjunction with Constantinople and the Nicene Creed in the 4th century.
so what do you think that means? He got the wrong answer and you got the right answer? or the other way around?
I wonder if those feelings we get are just that, feelings. Maybe you both got the wrong answer.

That's just it scriptures never say to pray about what people try to teach you. It says to use the Bible as a measuring stick and compare it to what the person is saying. Christians do this to their pastors and preachers. The thing is if you have read the Bible you know that something is wrong with Mormonism. They say that the Bible is not inerrent, but can't prove it. It is check out for yourself on how we got the Bible and how it was copied. Anyways with Scripture one can discern truth.

You mentioned Moroni's promise to know that The Book of Mormon or LDS church was true. There are 3 conditions that are clearly laid out in Moroni 10:4, ..."sincere heart, with real intent, having FAITH IN CHRIST..." You were clearly missing the most vital ingredient, faith in Christ (since you didn't even believe in him). Trust me, it works.

God never asks us or commands us in the Bible to use prayer to decide of a religion is true. This is relying on feelings, which can and do deceive us. Have you ever read the Nicene Creed?! There was a heresy in the 200's & 300's. The heresy was called 'Arianism', named after Arius who denied the divinity of Christ. The creed is long, so I'll just quote a couple of sentences, but you need to educate yourself. "...Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten by the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, BEGOTTEN, NOT MADE, one in being with the Father. etc. etc. Maybe you can Google "Nicene Creed" and learn.

The fact is that feelings only means a person has some feelings. It is NOT the confirmation of truth & we shouldn't be seeking a feelings, so to be 'hooked on a feeling' as the BJ Thomas song said. Acts 17:11 has the already written scripture as the standard. Objective standards of Deut 13 & 18, Gal 1:6-9, 2 Cor 11:3-4,13-15.

They don't believe in the Trinity, the Divinity of Jesus Christ, which is basic to Christianity. They believe in the heresy called Arianism. It was started in the 300's by Arius. He spread the heresy that Jesus Christ was not divine, that he was created by God, which is NOT Trinity. The heresy spread and Emperor Constantine called all the Christian leaders.

@kontrabombarde32 The meeting was called the Council of Nicea (the name of the city where they gathered). For over 2 years they discussed the heresy of Arianism which claimed that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was CREATED by God, and not BEGOTTEN, which is against the Christian belief. Hence the Nicean Creed which settled the matter once and for all, that Jesus Christ was "begotten, not made". Mormons believe he was made, not begotten, therefore it's impossible for them to be Christians.

Then just don't assume, "Oh, OK, they believe in Christ, so they must be Christian". Ask them, "What is your definition of Jesus Christ?' They will say that He is the Son of God, He died for our sins." Then ask them, "Was He created by God or was He begotten by God?' They'll tell you He was Created. Bingo! I can see a contradiction in his testimony. He says he prayed to God to know if it was true. He also says when he was that young he didn't believe in Jesus. Well having faith in Christ is one of the requirements of the promise. Also, he says he did this when he was what, 11 or younger? The promise also states that you have to read and ponder the Book of Mormon first. I hate to be judgmental about it, but I HIGHLY doubt a little 11 year old or younger kid truly understanding everything.

The promise at the end of the Book of Mormon states that if it's true you will receive a 'Burning of the Bosom' and if it isn't true then you will be in a stupor of though. So if he received the 'Burning of the Bosom' it doesn't mean it isn't true, it means it is. He misinterpereted the confirmation.

An overwhelming majority of people that leave the Mormon church feel a sense of guilt. A lot of people are not willing to truly devote themselves to following the teachings. Laziness sets in...which leads to guilt. And ultimately, they talk themselves out of believing in anything. The other group are people that have broken a commandment of some sort and feel guilty. Instead of confronting their challenge(s) they simple run and blame the church for all of their problems. Pretty common.

Actually, it's just pure fact. Anyone who leaves something good is going to feel a certain amount of guilt. Some feel more than others. If you tried devoting as much time and effort (sincere effort) into "being Mormon" as you have with you new nebulous, undefined Christianity I'm sure you'd be in a different boat. Zach, there's a little bit of a problem with your "testimony". In the Book of Mormon it gives a promise that all those who will read it, pray about and then "ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you. I'm not sure about your intent or sincerety of heart but you were certainly missing the key ingredient-faith in Christ-since you said that you didn't even believe in him. I just have one thing to say. Assume there's a God and there's Satan, and that there really is only ONE true church of God. Assume that Satan is the enemy of God, and wants to tear down anything that would build the kingdom of God. If that were true, then Satan would use any means necessary to tear down this one true church, including people of different beliefs.

Most Churches believe that the Bible is a complete document and place there trust in the contents within it.
The MoBOTs feel that a BOM, Pearls and Golden Tablets are also needed to become closer to God.

The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is the full title. The book of Mormon works in collaboration with the Bible to testify of Christ's divinity and ministry on the Earth, it doesn't work against what the Bible says. It supports it.
Read it for yourself, and see if you don't agree. And if you don't want to read it, then why be so against something that you refuse to try to understand? Maybe if you understood it you'd be more open-minded towards the people of the faith.

Also, Does it matter what is commonly accepted? It was commonly accepted before the renaissance that the earth was flat, but that doesn't mean that it was. The English language didn't exist in Biblical times. It only makes sense that some things were lost in translation. Therefore, a few things in the English Bible SHOULDN'T make sense and should be questioned.

"The Bible has always been...." A little exaggeration pertaining to the Bible. The Bible we have now wasn't even a Bible until the 1600's.
During the time of Adam, Noah, Moses, even during the Savior's ministry and His Apostles and Prophets after Him, there was no Bible, only the words of God written down by His servants.
Let us not exaggerate the truth and use the term "always" when there wasn't "always" a Bible.

If I were to pick up a rock, name it Jesus and worship it, I would NOT be a Christian. The Mormons have a VERY different Jesus than the one Christians worship. My Jesus is God of everything. period. Actually there is no scripture any place that says 'Trinity'. It is a false concept. How else could Jesus be baptized AT THE SAME TIME as witnesses testify they heard God's voice from heaven AT THE SAME time as those same witnesses saw the Holy Ghost descend upon Jesus? And who would Jesus be praying to in the Garden and otherwise if He was also God? The reason for all the contradictions is due to the Catholic church in conjunction with Constantinople and the Nicene Creed in the 4th century.

That's just it scriptures never say to pray about what people try to teach you. It says to use the Bible as a measuring stick and compare it to what the person is saying. Christians do this to their pastors and preachers. The thing is if you have read the Bible you know that something is wrong with Mormonism. They say that the Bible is not inerrent, but can't prove it. It is check out for yourself on how we got the Bible and how it was copied. Anyways with Scripture one can discern truth.

Jesus never tells us to worship a church, or to hold one prophet in any higher esteem than another. He does tell us that "if we do not believe that He is Messiah, we will die in our sins" If your boast on judgement day is a church or a prophet, you will spend eternity regretting it. We only believe in one god. The true one true god. It is the same god christians believe in, but because we have the Book of mormon we have a stonger understanding of the scriptures and god.
Ezekial 37:15-17 tells us of the relationship between the book of mormon and the bible. The book of mormon is not an addition to the bible. It is another testement of jesus christ.

Praying for LDS is a good perspective for Christians. However, the idea that they are the offspring of Satan is nonsense. You either are sincere and have an unbiblical & illogical view, or you are not sincere. The only way a Christian should think along that line is that all non-Christians are condemned, and spiritually children of the devil (Jn 3:36, 1 Jn 3:190), LDS have another Jesus & false gospel according to the Bible- Gal 1:6-9, 2 Cor 11:3-5,13-15. Far from actual 'offspring'.

Read the book "One Nation Under Gods" by Richard Abanes to see the early church and its founders frauds, exposed through early newspaper stories, and documents the church does NOT want you to see. Try watching the video 'The Book of Mormon and New World DNA' from fairldsorg that shoots holes all through the DNA arguement. Uses current and inprogress research and even publications from the Smithsonian to make our arguement. Maybe you should try some unbiased research in the future?

Zach Praise God for speaking to your heart Mormonism is a Cult and most who attend are deceived. in 2004 I had a friend who was Lds Mormon she gave me a six pac of cd ofthe Book of mormon.I listened for 15 min with head phones on.I threw them from my head and said to my hubby "I dont know much about much but what I do know is this is not about God or Jesus. Zach, I'm sorry you never felt that the LDS church was true. However, after listening to you I can tell you exactly what your problem was. You mentioned Moroni's promise to know that The Book of Mormon or LDS church was true. There are 3 conditions that are clearly laid out in Moroni 10:4, ..."sincere heart, with real intent, having FAITH IN CHRIST..." You were clearly missing the most vital ingredient, faith in Christ (since you didn't even believe in him). Trust me, it works.

uhp100-People have used the Book of Mormon's way to self-validate itself, & have come up with a resounding no. Those 3 parts of BOM also show that it says either one concludes it is true, or something is defective in the person. That is also confirmed by reading thew present 1981 Intro to BOM. That is a no win for all who disagree for any reason, including praying about the it. Acts 17:11 says to use written scripture to test anyone, including living apostles, including subjective feelings

3 Levels of heaven is found in 1st Corinthians chapter 15. As for the raping of 14 year olds, I hate to break it to you but those are not Latter Day Saints. They are people that left the LDS Church to start their own Church so that they could do evil things like that and try to do it under a religious pretext. None of the real LDS approve of them. You lumping them in with us is just as ignorant as assuming that every Muslim is a supporter of terrorism because there are a few Muslim terrorists.

God never asks us or commands us in the Bible to use prayer to decide of a religion is true. This is relying on feelings, which can and do deceive us. I haven't always felt saved, or that I knew the truth of certain matters, but I studied the Bible and prayed and sought the truth, and the Holy Spirit showed me the way through the Bible.

Joseph smith was READING THE BIBLE WHEN IT SAYS James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." TunnelRat367- Yoy said "your [sic] not gonna feel the spirit". The Bible says in Acts 17:11 that even when living apostles speak, the standard is the written scriptures, not your feelings. Subjective feelings, whether you admit it or not, leaves YOU as the standard for truth- what your own subjective feelings go, that equals truth. Not so in the Bible's Acts 17:11. Living leaders don't take precedence over written scriptures to test. Mormoni 10's BOM test to know BOM is true is false.
