Just as (most) of the American public proved to be dupes when it came to believing anything Bush and company claimed, so the British public (mostly) has demonstrated their inability to challenge any bogus load of horse crap their government wants to sell.
@roaringwaterbay The difference is a vast majority of the British public didn't support the war even on the bogus evidence in front them. The public only got behind the war when the troops had been shipped, and it wasn't support for the war, it was support for the troops... whom they wanted home.
Protest marches before, and during the deployment were vast.

The UK has little choice if it wants to use its military. The UK Navy has only one aircraft carrier for example, and it's scheduled for decommissioning. And whom is going to carry RAF fighters by sea in the future? The US navy, obviously. Britain post-WW2 always pretending it still has military clout when it doesn't.

28 countries copy and model themselves on British S.A.S, Britain charges them to train them,then sells them old equipment,planes,tanks etc etc and then charges then to teach them how to use and maintain it all. its a large part of British econamy.
