@dburford9 The 30MM guns sight is synchronized with the pilots helmet, where he looks the gun looks. If the fired is irratic it is because the helo is moving as well as his head. If they hover they get a straighter and more fixed pattern. If you look just below the center of the FLIR screen , which is what you are looking at, you will see the small box come up and the outside egdes turn stripped. That is the missile acquiring and locking up via auto-range-finder and then firing. Hope that help

The 130 doesnt have a mini-gun. The mini-gun was in the C-47 (first gunship) "PUFF" and the mini handled 7.62 mm. AC-130 has a 25mm Gatling gun that CAN fire the same array of rounds with a select rate of 4000 or 6000 rpm. USAF VIET VET 1973-79 Weapons Crew Chief

Ok. Snipers have training exercises shooting out of helicopters. It is very difficult let alone very dangerous to hold a helicopter perfectly steady for a sniper to get a good shot off. A machine gun fires bullets down range at a much faster rate. That is why sniper rifles are not on helicopters.
