The original argument behind socialism was that the working class own the means of production. I think the idea that capitalism and socialism are at odds is a false paradigm. People can own and self manage their own factories and farms without a small elite of government officials or private investors over them.We can democratically produce goods and competitively trade them on an open market.To me that's the best of both socialism and capitalism.

The AJ interview with Chomsky mentioned here can be heard on YT. Its good. They agree with each other on everything until the very end. AJ asserts that people of England had guns and their death rate from firearms placed them at 1st or 2nd in the world that year (2007?). Chomsky contested the data. I have looked into this and Jones is wrong. Makes sense. We know that police in England didn't even have guns, as Chomsky said. Chomsky did not hang up on him. Other way around.
