De villiers claimed a catch at third slip off Strauss at headingly last year that bounced before it reached him. He then dropped it, scooped it back up and claimed the catch. It was disgraceful.
he thot that it went from his one hand to another, he apologised straight away... if u remember similar thing happend to vaughan as well in that same day... he claimed a catch which was not given.. also in that same match AB was booed by the crowd when he came to bat. but after he scored 174, the crowd realised they had witnessed a magnificent innings and applauded him in the end..
I'm not sure either of us really believe that. He cheated, plain and simple. Vaughn's catch was almost certainly clean; the camera foreshortens the shot and means that the 3rd umpire can't give it out. Great innings, agreed.
I also saw that catch. Look at it again. Look where his head is facing, its facing up towards the sky. How the hell could he have known exactly what happened. And it happened so fast. He thought that he scooped it from one hand to the other, like i have seen him do before. He even said so in the interviews. You should also have seen how bad he felt when he found out that the catch wasnt clean.
I'm sorry but I'm not having it. It looked nothing like out. I've stood at slip, you know when it bumps first.
That one in particular bounced and dribbled along the floor before he scooped it up. I'm not saying he's inately a cheat, but he definately cheated there. I have absolutely no doubt.
Smith, Kallis and Boucher didn't exactly help matters by celebrating so fiercly either. He just went with the flow, I hope he learned his lesson - I'd have bollocked him if I was his coach.
it happens in slips.. its not selfish..u need to field in slip to learn it... it just happens... i took catches like this, but this one is way faster than mine obviously.
im an aussie and pontings my hero but ab takes fielding to new levels. you could basically take out 2nd and 4th slip, he covers that much ground. and everything sticks. he wouldnt drop a fat chick with hairy armpits
iamasausage...i saw that catch too..it was terrific mainly coz he dint hav any idea where d ball was till he spotted wit his hawk eye n his eva reflexive hands..that was one heck of a catch!!!!
he is d best catcher..n ricky is d best wen i t comes to hittin d stumps.. i guess
this gus is without a doubt the best catcher ive ever seen. superb reflexes, and agility. the catch he took against the aussies last nite was superb. one handed in his left, unsighted, and nearly past him. im in awe of him
i am an aussie supporter but i love watching this guy field. Some of the catches he took against us in the recent tests were unbelievable. great athleticism as well
that was basically the same shot played by ricky ponting in the first test match against south africa last week, and a great catch on both occasions by de villiers
my bad. I'm a rugger meself, bias admitted. Though in the given context(that of devilliers leaping like his arse is on fire) springboks gels better, I'd say.
Great reflex Ab de.

This is a clean catch. At 0:28 both of his hands are touching each other and he moved ball from one hand to the other.

Great catch, great fielder. Shame he was responsible for the worst bit of cheating I've seen in test cricket against england last year.

oh, I have great respect for de villiers as a very talented cricket, but if he did that it's very shameful, didn't expect dat 4rm him at least.
