@9TheManiac I wouldn't call Green Day punk, if you compare them to the REAL punk bands (mid 70s) there is no chance in hell they sound like them. Imo, I think it's right to call them alternative up to some point; since "alternative" is such an ambiguous tag, there is no simmilar sound in the alternative rock bands which can go from RHCP's funky rock to some "post-grunge" like Creed and even maybe "indie rock" bands.
