Screw guns, go with the chainsaw or ax and always keep the guns as a last resort when fighting zombies you will need to conserve the ammo. You are even better off attaching a snowplow attachment to the front of a ATV and just mowing them down while getting away and grabbing supplies.

Oh and you do realize that the zombie apocalypse bulletin by the CDC was just a catchy way to draw people in to read about how to prepare for slightly more likely disasters right?
