If this came around, it should be picked up by either CW or FX... both of those networks are good, hell American Horror Story, Supernatural... those networks already have experience with this type of show. Plus it would show even more characters and the entire wizarding world instead of Magical Britain..

Goblet of Fire addresses the Salem Witches' Institute, so there is certainly wizarding world canon in the US. I think a show like this would be really awesome; branching off from HP in current times, as he's raising his kids so there could be subtle references, in a world just about anyone knows. I wish someone would pursue this..

When I imagine the TV show, all i can see is an animated one for kids. It makes sense to just base it off his adventures in Hogwarts, instead because it gets a little too dark in the end for the target demographic of who ever was going to produce this.
