  • Man, I'm so sorry they gave you a Linkin Park song... Linkin Park doesn't make any use of guitars other than basic power chords. If I were you I wouldn't have even done it!

Some cool improv though. Good job haha

  • @ventor11225

You can express your opinion without being vulgar. If you can play the guitar well, good for you. But who died and left you the judge of the guy's guitar skills? Oh rightt. Not you! So take them shoes off your teeth and quit running your mouth. Stop making a fool outta yourself.

  • @Hateface2841 True. Good call.

  • I'm with the ventor kid. You're a giant douche!!! :D What's up Froebes? You kick ass as always.

  • @potheday *laughs* Thanks man. What's up with you?

  • And also no way IN HELL do you deserve that 1500 dollar guitar. You should give that to someone that knows how to play.

  • @ventor11225 I appreciate your concern, but since I paid for that guitar with my own money and it has sentimental value to me, I think I'll keep it.

Also, "knows how to play" is a very subjective phrase. I've been playing music for 16 years, and I went on tour with a music group in the Air Force. While there, I was selected to be the band leader because they felt that my music knowledge would help.

However, I'm very open to the possibility that I can't really play. Thanks for the warning.

  • @ventor11225 You can't even spell poltergeist right kid, and at 14 (half the age of several who've commented on Froeber's page here) you have NO ROOM TO TALK. Not to mention you have a huge vocab as it sounds. Normally attacking someone like this is something I avoid, but you brought this one on yourself. I agree with Hateface 2341 too, don't defend yourself to this moron Froeber; you're better than that; keep it coming bro!

  • @tgeier77 I appreciate it man. Thanks.

  • @tgeier77 Shut the fuck up. I fucking kick your ass at guitar. Im stuck with a fuckin Squier, and I really can play pretty good, not being cocky, i just think if i had a guitar like this it would be alot easier to play. But my familys fuckin poor so yeah

  • @ventor11225 Son, it doesn't sound like you could fight your way out of a wet dream. That said, sorry to hear that your family is poor. I don't doubt that you think you can play well and I'm done defending myself and my friend. If you're so good, prove it by acting professional and not like the 14 year old child you are, with a bad attitude and lousy vocab.

  • If you are going to play a song to show talent on guitar why the hell would you play this? Are you fucking retarded? Or do you just suck that much on guitar? EPIC FAIL

  • @ventor11225 1) Obviously, you didn't read the video description, as I explained that I didn't pick this song. 2) Because I suck so much at guitar, I was able to go on tour all over the world and I got paid to play guitar. 3) While on tour, I got together with the hottest chick on the team, and I eventually married her. 4) I always enjoy constructive criticism, as I want to be a better guitar player.

So, with all that said...what are your credentials?

  • @Drawthemoral Well uhhh............ You pretty much just kicked my ass. lol.

  • @ventor11225 To be fair, click on my Youtube Profile and watch the video called "Guitar Time Signature...part 5B" this is a song that I wrote, played, recorded and produced.

So if you want, give this a listen. It will give you a better idea of what I like to write.

I'm open to any constructive criticism you may have. Besides, the world would be boring if everyone had the same tastes.

  • @Drawthemoral Hey dude im sorry. I was being really immature and an asshole idk what the hell i was thinking.

  • @ventor11225 It's not a problem. I wasn't being sarcastic or getting mad at you...I don't blame you for not liking this song, and I STILL don't like it. I just had to make do with what I was given. if you'd like to hear my actual style of guitar playing, then check out that video that I told you about in my profile.

If not, keep playing and getting better. And always remember that there's something to learn from everyone...even if it's just where you don't want to go.

  • @Drawthemoral Haha thanks dude.

  • iiiiii like it :D

  • fail

  • @Techolover21 Do you have any constructive criticism?

  • dude your guitar sounds dead

  • Yeah, that's because we could only play through their system. i.e. No amplifier. So the only thing that I had to mildly shape the tone was a Boss GT-8. And the thing is, I had the GT-8 setup for use with my amp...not direct to the board. I forgot to adjust the patch accordingly.

  • ah ok then

anyways dude that was awesome good show

  • que es esto osea esta bien pero para un concurso una cancion tan facil no creo q ayas ganado y no se no me convence mucho

  • Use gain next time.

  • Yeah, see the comment I made to spidercocks above. I was playing straight into their PA system because they don't allow you to use an amplifier...so all I had was a GT-8.

  • hey there buddy, you rock, could you mail me a simplified version. Im 15 and would love to play like that.... :D

  • That sounds about right, You put the years of practice and dedication into mastering your instrument and they stick you with crappy mainstream trash. good job on giving such a horrible song a decent run ;)

  • That's the story of every musician's life I think. At some point you have to decide if you are going to do what people want to get success, or to do what you love...and perhaps never get recognized. Doing this enabled me to see what its like to play music that you don't enjoy on someone else's deadline. So in that aspect I grew as a professional. It also taught me that I need to find a venue where I can be true to who I am as an artist and a musician, and these kinds of things are not it for me.

  • very true, its good to be optimistic learn, its just sad the average person has a horrible taste in music ;), how long have you been playing guitar? also I was wondering if you have any advice on crafting a practice schedule when you go about practicing, you seem pretty organized.

  • Oh man, I could write an essay on the current state of music...so I hear ya' on that. As far as practicing, I used to practice every day. Lately, I've been focusing on the engineering side of things so I'm only playing about 3-4 times a week. It's paid off though because now I'm officially an Apple Certified Pro in Logic.

  • Now as far as practice is concerned, I'll usually start with warmups to stretch and get my fingers aligned with the fretboard. After that, I spend some time doing scales, arpeggios, and soloing techniques. Then, I'll go through some jazz chord progressions...and then I'll just jam out and have fun. That way, I can incorporate any new technique into my "fun" session. The real key is being able to honestly assess your skills, and then hone the weak areas.
