Irritating. That's not "playing". It IS good that he's getting comfortable holding a guitar etc -but he could actually be developing very bad habits that will be very hard to undo later. Parents might better put him in Suzuki training for guitar than letting him bang away like that. Or at least put it in open tuning so it doesn't drive everyone else nuts.
