I used to think the WDM Geiger Counter was the sickest, weirdest pedal out there.. this demented beast might just have it beat. I mean that in a GOOD way, of course...
There's room for everyone in the gear world. That's what's so great these days there's so much to choose from. Nothing is better or worse it's really all personal taste :)
Also, that's what happens when someone fails to make a piece of desirable gear available for too long, someone else makes one. & I don't feel the Snazzy is a clone of the PLL. Just because a pedal uses a phase locked loop doesn't mean anything. They sound different. Lets see if Schumann ever makes this new PLL anyway...
True true... Lucky for me I like the Snazzy - Miniarc better. Schumann accused it of being a copy but as soon as he found out about it he pushed back releasing PLL to redesign a better one. Which really seems like he did because he truly heard something better & wanted to top it.
Also, for a similar but little less price pedal check out INFANEM- Analog Harmony Synth pedal. All hand made of amazing quality & has about same controls as the PLL but has more Harmony settings; lower octaves, other intervals, & yes it's completely analog
@Rasputin1176 Yeah, I got one to try it out. It's a different beast to be sure, and I didn't like the control scheme personally. I do think you get like 85% of the Schumann though, at a tiny percent of the price.
No Way!! It does no cost $3000 dollars! It's more like $500. Think about it, a pedal is not going to be the price of a really nice hand made boutique amp, even the rarest pedals don't cost the price of a crappy amp....
it originally sold for $500 but only 100 or so were made with a good number of those falling into the hands of high end studios or well known bands/musicians, and this was several years ago. nowadays, they have sold for upwards of 3 grand due to nobody who bought one direct wanting to get rid of theirs and the recent demand for guitar synths and noisemakers. it is one of the most fucked up things you can plug a guitar into.
Hum...of mild interest. Frankly, I rather have a WMD Geiger Counter with an expression pedal which seems a tad more interesting than this. Personally, I have a vast array of boutique and quirky pedals and one thing I have learned - the hard way - is the execution and build of some of these pedals, which, not rarely, aren't top standard - I wonder how this little box looks inside.
I played on of these at a guitar store in Brooklyn a while back and by far it's the most massive sounding thing that I've ever played. It was expensive though.

this pedal is sick. i use this with my bass in my band, the locust. i got it from schuman and still have no idea how to properly operate it. but needless to day, its awesome.

This pedal makes a Fuzz factory look like as if it makes sense... this thing doesn't make sense at all to me!
Great sounds though! :)

I love this.
I would love to run my RC20xl into this and just turn knobs to configure the sound for the worlds oddest live ambient performance ever.
In a bear suit.
