C:\Garrysmod\hl2.exe -steam -game garrysmod -appid 4001 if you copy and paste that right where the traget is suppose to go i promise you it will work, so delete your originally target and then paste this one.

@xXminecrafterXxX it's simple : Right click on hl2.exe then [Send To] - [Desktop(Shortcut)] then right click the shortcut u made go[Proterties] add to[Target] a space(if u don't it won't work) and then add -steam -game garrysmod -appid 4001

After searching around, I had the same exact problem. Well in the part where you put the " ' ", there is no need to do that. Just put this in "C:\GarryMod\hl2.exe­", then click apply and open up the Garrys Mod 11, Have fun!

@CreeperChain ill help, thats the exact problem i had for 24 hours. Theres nothing wrong with the game, i almost deleted it. you just have to type C:/ so the slash is not / its this way \ then look for garrysmod through a control bar. or name your folder Garrymod and copy this in your local disk (not in any local disk file)

C:\Garrymod\hl2.exe -steam -game garrysmod -appid 4001

and in start in

C:\Garrymod\

If you have problem with saving properties just copy the target stuff without the '' then goto the C drive open your garrymod folder and then goto Garry's Mod 11.link properties again etc

Both is on the Source Engine, well Garrys Mod is just a mod ^^ So it needs a game before, to run^^

EVERYBODY LISTEN!!! YOU CAN'T HAVE STEAM WITH THIS GARRY'S MOD!! I've had this before, if you have steam, steam will conflict with garrys mod and say you need a correct source! THIS IS REAL AND TRUE! LISTEN! IF you want to keep steam, look for a different garry's mod like a ".bat" start up like i have for my gmod 10, I play and access the game with a batch file

.exe'z can be conflicted other than batch files :) so if u dont have steam go for this it really works, if u want ur steam, find batch!
