everything before 2006 was a jazz bass or an active G&L, so you won't get that tone with a pw bass

Might i suggest that you train your pinky finger more, it will really help for other styles of music. I don't play with a pick, but your picking seemed really good. I find it really hard to play with one, too slidey for me.

I am one of those who do!

In my free time, nothing is more satisfying than punk-rock (which Dookie still was BTW; notice the rock, it isn't pure punk spirit, that's true)

But when I grab my bass, I love pretty much every style of music. Not to brag, but I own almost every RHCP song and can play about one third of it by heart. Really, why should anyone still be this narrow-minded?!

however, it´s a Squier, not a Fender

and Mike has his own sig. model since 2004 I think and of course he uses that one (which is not my bass)

and no, I put the flatwound back in the package, can´t use them for my band..

Well, yeah, you can a GD typish sound but tbh, if you want a bass for Green Day, you´re better off with Mike´s Signature bass

but the ATK is a more versatile bass, you just have way more options
