Hey I just bought a BB 8700. I have 2 questions.

1st; How do I turn off the blinking light that indicates that I am in an area where there is network service?

2nd; When I dial from my contact list all the numbers have a + symbol before the area code. for example +8092368956. I would like to have it so there is no + before the area code when I dial from my phone book.

@m80aziz I don't know if you still need these answers after a month, but here:

1st: At the Home Screen, go to Options, Screen/Keyboard, scroll down to "LED Coverage Indicator:" and set to Off.

2nd: At the Home Screen, go to your address book and click whoever the contact is or contacts are and click Edit. Go to whatever number(s) that has/have a + and simply delete the + and click Save.

I assume that it's just the contact on the phone that's gone but the sim car still obtain that data, that's why you can still see that names.

Go to address book ->press scroll key->select "SIM Phone Book" -> now you should see all your contacts that's on the SIM card ->Press Scroll Key again -> select "Copy All to Adress Book", now you should have all you contacts in your address book when you go there.

I too use this as a backup, you can jump on it, run it over on grass or sand, drop it in water and it comes back for more, this bitch is tough. However, i do not approve of testing any of these on your poor blackberry or support this type of brutal testing in any way shape or form. Unless of course you don't care about the risk of damage, then beat it up. I put my old 7290 in a blender :P It didn't make it.

I got one since a few days, and got my first major prob with it! it is said that it can play mp3 ringtones, but how can i get mp3s on my blackberry? my mac doesnt accept it when sending via bluetooth and with the special programm pocketmac, it shows me that my blackberry isnt able for any media.

Great review thanks. I was told by At+T i can view videos and upload pics. For the life of me i can't manage with the USP port etc. When i send a link it shows me the pic of the video and link..and "uploads" something. But i can't view anything. No media card right?

- Great screen

- Great speakerphone

- Quick texting with the QWERTY keyboard

- I have a very powerful SLR Nikon camera, so I don't need a weak 2.0-5.0 MP on any phone I use

- I only listen to music at home, so portable music isn't necessary for me.

Again, great phone for anyone who doesn't need a cameraphone or mp3 player to get by life. Handling e-mails & txt is very fast and efficient.

I just bought the blackberry 8700c lastnight and it was for a great package deal on AT&T website you didn't have to pay for the phone and npr anything u didn't even have to use your credit card... I wrote my name checked my SSN put my address and they will send me my bill for 44.99 with a 1 time activation fee of 36.00 on my 1st bill.. Which is a great deal and it cam with 200 txt for 5 dollars and I don't even txt so its great!

A friend gave me this exact 8700 phone and i use it with my prepaid AT&T sim card...it works great as a prepaid..but even with bluetooth on and synched to my Mac it wont let me transfer any ringtones or more importantly JPEG pics..is it because it was a business phone? I bought what is called new old stock. I bought it on ebay for $149 but is new! You could probably get some used ones in different states of use and wear for from about 40 bucks and up. I dont miss the camera yet since I get to use the kwerty board to death and i find myself texting away!!!
