@alexsteel01 If you have nothing to backup in your phone then do this.

**Remember it will make it again locked to network if it was unlocked using "tools"**.

Assuming that it is on and on, hold home and power button and it will switch it off. While holding home button quickly insert the usb and keep home button holding. It will bring you in recovery mode. Go to itunes and do a restore. according to today's date it will update it to 4.2.1 with baseband (modem-version) depending ur iphone.

You need to connect it to your PC and use itunes to restore it, if that doesn't work: uninstall Itunes and Quicktime. Then reinstall them and try to connect again and click "the restore button" (or whatever it is called in your language) to restore to the default settings.

well you can try this solution. Let it charge like for about 10 min if it still doesnt turn on then its ok. When 10 min passed hold the home button and the button on top together for 15 seconds. if still dont work then send it to apple. caz that happen to me and it worked. so hope this helps

however on connecting on other wireless hot spots internet works perfectly

so im guessing i may have some network gaps between my router and iphone

i know how to fix this problem, i had the same problem with my 3gs, to fix it u have to plug your iphone to your computer and open itunes... itunes wont detect.. then u have to do dfu mode...then itunes will detect your phone around 10-20 sec, and u need to restore your phone, hope this helps

I had the same problem.U have to to force restore it in iTunes.. Hold down sleep wake button for 3 seconds, then hold down the home button and sleep wake button for 15 seconds then let go of sleep wake button unroll it says connect to iTunes. iTunes will then restore it and it should be up and running.. fr now it is operating. my problem started when it couldn't find any signal so turned it of. and then after the recet i did two times it did and it has full signal.

When ever you have an iPhone that "hangs" on the boot screen, you should try and put it into DFU mode... You can google it. This will let iTunes recognize the phone, you do a restore or you can download the firmware from somewhere they are easy to find, and then reinstall it. If doing that doesnt work then take it into apple or wherever you go it from. I would this woks 90% of the time...

You should of plugged it into itunes then forced it into DFU mode. By pressing the sleep button and home button for about ten secs till a red slider at the top of the screen pops up. When it does quickly let go of the sleep button at the top WHILE keeping the home button pressed for a further 10 or so seconds and itunes should recognise the phone. Then u just restore it! easy :) now if it happens for whatever reason to your new iphone you can restore it no problems

well thats pretty accurate. a very large part of australia is desert, and of course the big red rock lol. as you get towards the coast in the north, it gets very topical and humid, whether the coastal line everywhere else id say is normal ? but it only snows on the mountain ranges to the south of australia, and its not like a little bit of snow lol.

well for one thing she could have tried to put it into recovery mode, it skips the booting phase I think, and all your phone can hold that would possibly be important are your contacts and emails but your emails are synced in many places, and iTunes backs up your contacts so if that happens you should'nt really worry about it. If you really need something you could probably make a special request to apple for them to take the flash drive out and extract the memory or something

Oh forgot to describe my previous post is to enter the iPhone recovery mode or Safe mode. It's different from Holding the Wake and Home button at the same time.

Turn of your iPhone 3G. Hold the Home button, connect the Sync Cable to your PC's iTunes. Don't release the Home button until you see the iPhone 3G with the picture of USB connecting to iTunes. Go to iTunes, do a restore, and make sure you must have internet connection. After 15 mins, you should have you iphone restored correctly without returning back to Apple. Unless you want a brand new one without scratch.
