Not only do we have to fight the Veterans Bureaucracy for what we earned and are entitled to, but we have to fight a society that doesn't understand us, like us, or want us. I had to call the Police to help me calm down after I became manic from PTSD related nightmares on several occasions. They never arrested me, they helped me, I never did nothing wrong, or hurt myself or anyone, but the DCFS (CPS) still took my family! That only added fuel to the fire! Even if you get a disability award they still call you back every year to 'audit' that award, hoping to bring it down, thinking that over time your injuries will get better.I was Medevaced for service connected combat injuries after 10 years in the Army, was an M1A1 tank Commander, Honorably, Medically Discharged from Brooke Army Medical Center with 100%. Now they are always callin me back tryin to knock it down. I drove 8 hours round trip just to talk with some guy for 5 minutes !!

My buddy, Roby H, got only 15% of the TSGLI for losing multiple fingers along with getting massive shrapnel and burn injuries from a RPG that killed one of my friends and wounded several others including myself.

Don't ever give up your claim. The day you pass the 1 year deadline, your claim has to start again from the beginning. Keep your claim going. Once you win, they have to pay you back pay from the 1st day you claimed. Previded you did not have to start over. Keep the paperwork going. appeal appeal as far as you can, and then appeal to the courts. I first filed in 1982 then let it go.

Started again and only got 2 1/2 yrs back pay. I've known some fighting 10yrs. Got great back pay.

I am in this claims process now. This guy is dead on. You have to scrap for everything in the VA, and if you don't you are not going to get anything. Get those regulations, and books on the VA Programs. Voc Rehab is way better than the GI Bill. Don't sell yourselves short, comrades.

Unless there is a profit to be made or propaganda to be waged, troops generally dont get supported. This to me was foreseeable. 'Support the troops' doesnt mean anything. It's just a line the US admin. used to whip up patriotism and support for it's illegal adventures. I recommend everyone watch Michael Moore's Sicko. Download it from onebigtorrent dot org. Watch how the 911 heroes get treated. After seeing that, you'll see why many US troops dont get the proper treatment they desperately need.

I will post a video on line soon that will show my interview with a disabled veteran from the Iraq War who is receiving no Veteran's benefits at this time. If no changes are made in regards to his situation than he will be homeless. Pass the word our war veterans are not receiving the benefits that they should.

Man I'm a Gulfwar and Irag war veteran. I was recieve 80% disability. Over the last year i've been experiencing very bad Headache, my rash that i get on my head face are so bad that i'm ashamed to step out of my house. I filed for an increase in compensation and they not only denied my increase...But they stop my disability all together...I don't know what to do now...That pension money was my life. Now my wife and 2 children are suffering because of my devoted service to my country.
