  • What guitar is that?

  • @ZRN959 Hi, Aria 'Johnny Joyce ' model - 1975.

  • First I though "this is wrong" then 20 seconds passed and I thought "Oh snap, this shit is RIGHT!" Good jam

  • Canada admires you!

  • thanks man!!!

  • what tuning is it in`?

  • open G

  • @acoustictravellersl but maybe down one semitone?

  • @saftelskeren open G but maybe tuned down one semitone?

  • @johnhockings - I agree - it sounds like open Gb

  • Nice variation! I'd say you've just earned a subscription but I subscribed to you about 3 songs ago...

  • When you started playing i was thinking:" this sounds nothing like Son's version" and i didnt think i was going to like it but by the time of the second verse you had me tappin my feet and recognizing parts of the original!!!

Very cool way to ad some own flavor to a classic blues song!

    Best wishes and 5 star's!!

P.s. Do you still play with that harmonica guy you did "Me and the Devil Blues" with? You gentleman where a combi i'd like to see more of!!

  • Jim. Fantastic. Having followed your music on YT for well over a year now, you clearly have a diverse repetoire, and an amazing True Calling as 'algentry1' recognises. I suspect there is more to come! Looking at the comments posted on your YT videos, you are highly respected across much of Western Europe, Canada and America. You should be proud of what you are passing on to Blues enthusiasts world wide. Quite clearly, your work is highly respected. Keep pickin and slidin! Bill.

  • Nice comment Bill - thanks. I'm glad the results of my mispent childhood are entertaining people!

    cheers

    Jim

  • Wow!

You're one of those rare people who have answered their True Calling.

    Thanks for this one.

    Al

  • Mmm .... never had a true calling, maybe several false ones - feels good. Thanks for your comment.

  • 5***** and kisses from Germany

  • Death letter blues is one of my favorite...Even if you think that you need a little bit more of finesse, be sure that I find your version really great. Keep Bluesin... and take care. Phil.

  • oh man! the tone you're gittin' outa that guitar is fantastic. ya done good

  • Really well done. I think it's my favorite.

  • Very well done Jim! Nice to see you do some bottleneck slide for a change :)

  • Your a cool guy!

  • Quality! Nicely let rip!

  • The only way to pay homage to a Son House track is to "let it rip" I reckon. Nice job mate

  • That's a relief - thought it was so far from the original, that I might have screwed it up ...

  • Smokin'....great stuff, Mr. Bruce.

  • sounds great 5*****

  • Very Nice!!!

    Danny
