good way to get rid of em is 2 ave water bomb balloons ready, with added ingredient chilli powder in the water, next time you c 1 ave a shot in front of where its runnin or walkin too cause as soon as you throw they leg it.
if you encounter the kind of cats who enjoy the frill of annoyin & escapin which about 5% of em are put out some luxury cat food mixed with anti freeze, they love the taste of anti freeze and its a really bad poison
I put rat poison in chicken and put it in my bin. NO MORE CATS! lol......some would say cruelty, i call it the owners fault for letting them on my property.
Ok. You buy a big black bin with a lid. You put a black bin liner in the bin. At the end of the week you take the bin liner out and put it out for the rubbish man.
@benzoburnyou "It is not as simple as putting the rubbish in a wheelie bin or container as we live on a hill - it would be difficult to get the bin up and down the steps. The driveway is sloped (wheelie bin would fall over!) and the garage is under the house which would stink the place out!" :)
I would love to have your system! Unfortunately, I'm not that tech-savvy. Would you believe I have a problem with a dog AND HIS OWNER! coming up near my porch so the dog can use my shrubbery as a bathroom?? I would love to have the sprinkler as a deterrent as well as the video system to use against them when I take the owner to court for violation of leash laws and trespassing.
damn alot of cash to spray a cat all you have to do is take the later shown in the video climb on the roof then every time a cat comes round drop a brick on it buckcherry suck
Funny stuff. Like an up-to-date Heath Robinson. I don't think I'm the only one to figure out that in reality the computery stuff is just a bit of a joke, and that you're standing just out of shot holding the hose and turning it on when the cat approaches.
One bit of advice though: tidy up a bit, and you won't have cats, rats and mice going through your rubbish. Bins with lids are quite a good, low-tech way of keeping critters out.
LOL! It "IS" computer controlled, although I accept the fact that the computer controlling it does far more than just the cat sprinkler. Other things wired up are motion sensors, temperature sensors, wind sensor, lighting, and more.
Have you ever used I/O cards and a programming language such as QBasic before? If you haven't then you're never understand what it takes to configure something like this.
0:15 - These displays show more than just cat sprinkler status, 0:21 The PC on the right runs QBasic, the one on the left records cameras, and feeds camera movement info to the RH PC. 0:23 Other information, this is temperature screen, the yellow line shows outside temp is dropping
1:42 I/O cards with red LEDs, 1:44 2nd I/O card with the green LEDs - in centre at the temperature modules, 1:47 Relays that control the Hot Water and Central Heating in the house, 1:48 the boards control the VFD displays.
More videos to come soon explaining all the rest of it!
very impressive but SERIOUSLY OVERCOMPLICATED you obviously have the skills so how about a simple one similar to the REMOTE commercial types ie jetspray water repeller only costs £20 its only a pir+actuator+sprinkler- head+hose coupling dont get me wrong im well up for making pretty much anything and i have looked fruitlessly for cheaper diy ideas to stop the bloody cats crapping on my grass but for £20 whats the point good vid though a true elecronics project nice one!!
Problem with the DIY version is it doesn't have - automatic disable when someone walks out of a door, spraying only cats that linger, automatically deactivates when the outside temp is low (to stop freezing), start camera recording 10 seconds before activation, etc!
Once you have a computer involved you can program it to do anything. Anyhow - it's more fun to build your own design!
Someone flushed the toilet while I was having a shower the other day, causing me to leap out of the now scalding water. By the time I had finished my shower, I had mentally designed a system of flow meters, temperature sensors and stepper motors on the taps to automatically regulate the water temperature.

@p4rtn3r Hi! Actually, I've done lots of filming that explains everything and how it works. Problem is - "TIME!!", I have to edit it and post it.
I didn't think anyone would be interested, but i'll expedite it now!
Thanks for comment, Matt

@mrmattandmrchay What is the relevance of all the data?
Why not invest in more sprinklers instead?
The cats don't get drenched enough, in my opinion.
