  • could you do this again, but with the loose hair like in the movie

  • wow this came out really nice, good job! you go to school for animation?

  • Oh shit! Michael Jackson is the Joker!

  • This is great, though I would say that it seems to conversational like. A bit to friendly if you know what I mean.

  • Sucks

  • WHY SO SERIOUS?Let's put a smile on this face

  • The Animtaion is very good but ... This Joker Face is not my favorite ;)

  • at the end you should've made him whip out a gun and shoot the camera after he says his last line. really good animating though.

  • EPIC TORTOISE

  • did anyone else think he was gunna jump out of that chair, awesome work

  • When joker says that you know it's goin down

  • Not bad. Not bad at all.

  • Looks so awesome. Wish more Cartoons and movies use this style. You should try to do like a video interaction between Joker and Batman.

  • That was so cool! It would've been cool to see his face scrunch up more at the 'why so serious' parts...but coolio ^_^

  • His mouth reminds me of the mouths in Toy Story

  • That is awesome!!!!!!

  • Did you used morpher tool for sink and expresions? and ink and paint materials? Answer please - Thanks...

  • @Mandeologul

I used bones in the jaw and the eyes, the rest was made with morph targets.

used inkpaint material in the hair to use the specular, the rest I used gradient ramp with Solid e Lightning config

the outlines I used Illustrate plugin

  • Nice lip sync.

  • this video of joker reminds me of Planet of the Apes,,, he looks like ceaser

  • what kind of computer do you have? i about to buy a new one and i want to do stuff like this.

  • Великолепно!

  • great work on 3dsma, have you ever considered blender?

  • Very nice.

  • is just like anime cartoon

  • WOAH!!!!!

  • dude what programs did you use for this bit? It's AMAIZING! You should get some sort of award for this!

  • His face looks like a Joker Fish.

  • Man, you should have used Pgirts's excellent Mark Hamill version of this scene. Would have made this a bit more awesone.

  • Can you do this same type of vid with the other Joker monlogue? From the party scene?

  • weird....just weird.

  • Sting needs to stop trying to be Joker...SERIOUSLY

  • nicee

  • lets put a smile on 125 faces

  • damn, this looks great man

  • looks like a girl

  • that was great. I like the look too. Looks like a combination of Ledger (wardrobe) and the animated series Joker. for some reason the shape of his face actually makes me think a bit of Jake Morgendorfer from Daria

  • you are incredible I'm not sure why u use different hair style but still that was off the charts !!!

  • He talks like bruce lee

  • Dude that was off the charts awsome.

  • rs

  • her head looks like fish :D

  • this was awesome

  • @Voltage2014 i never said he did, i love mark hamills voice for the joker... maybe my fav??

  • This is the straight up bottom of the uncanny valley here.

  • not bad animation but...why is the joker in the cell saying this? it's the wrong scene\place...i don't get it

  • @LadyLuvlyGaga its awesome....the scene is fine, it wasnt the point of the video. probably easier, since if hes tied to the chair, he doesnt have to do anything but facial animations, instead of body gestures

  • @LadyLuvlyGaga u go and animate it somewhere else..if u think its that easy :D

  • looks like Billy Crystal/ joker fish

  • It's very good.

  • Mediocre at best, no hard feelings. Needs a lot more work, good for a start. Don't animate in Max, it's pointless... Use Maya or Motionbuilder...

  • everybody says maya is better for character animation, so i've started to watch some movies...

    know what i found out?

    BULLSHIT!

    using joints? black&white skinning? pointless

maya is for kids, for the ones who never really understood what 3D is about

  • @henriqvist

Actually XSI is pretty damn good along with 3dsmax.

  • xsi is better for FX, motiondesign, particles, those things...

for character animation it suck, don't even have a trajectories that works, not to mention the keyframes that are all red, the terrible colorful skinning...

  • @henriqvist

    By XSI I mean softimage.

  • @henriqvist You can speak gibberish all you want, and watch tutorials all you want, but the industry standard for animation is Maya and Motionbuilder. I am in the industry, so don't speak of what you don't know anything about...

Pointless was me arguing with a beginner...

  • industry means: a lot of guys who think they know to much, but they need others to do want they don't know how to do, everything becomes a Tower of Babel. They think they are saving money but they are just spending, but no problem, they are 1st World at all...

millions of render farms, concepts in clay, oh my gosh...

  • @henriqvist Just to confirm your embarrassment, go to CGtalk forum and copy paste your whole answer to me that Maya is for kids...

  • @Daumex Bro, take that stick out of your ass and let him use what he wants.

  • @henriqvist Oh yes. For kids annnnnnnnnnd the majority of the film industry and a well known game company Naughty Dog who made such well known games with Maya as Drakes Fortune. One is not better than the other if you knew either program you wouldn't say such nonsense.

  • @henriqvist well you know what? Is not that Maya gives a greater animation, is that Maya has better tools to make an animation. 3dsmax and Maya give out great animation depending on who's the animator is.

  • I think it just come with ready tools, but you can create anything in Max, since you know scripting very well.

But most people don't know scripting, even I just know the basic

  • Damn the facial expressions were perfect!

  • creapier than usual

  • WHY SO BRITISH?!

  • THAT's AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • The joker, my favorite serial killer.

  • @smawzyv king of being SERIOUSLY funny!

  • WOW man :D

  • I know this by heart now. nice job.

  • Whoa he looks like freddie mercury in "these are the days of our lives" video :D

  • genial!

  • scary but creative

  • That's awesome. Keep up the good work!

  • Looks like Jack Nicholson. That's a compliment.

  • wickedly done :)

  • great job dude

  • Very impressive. Great expressions.

  • this isnt the scene that it happens in the movie

  • @ultimatesly good job detective

  • @haloz4 you dont have to thank me

  • If you don't mind me asking, what program did you use? I'm interested in doing this kinda stuff but have no idea what to use.

  • @fattybuccha72190 You could use blender its a free 3d modeller, but you wont be making animation and models the same day. You will need a lot of learning and practice.

  • oh, I used 3D Max, but you would need photoshop and a program for composition as well

  • Very well done. Fantastic nothing more to say :00

  • this is pure awesome:)

  • everything looks awesome, including the brow movement, but the shape of the eyes could use some animating

  • Why So Serious?

  • freak'n epic. I LOVE the last expression he has.

  • Ah shit that was cool, yet fucking creepy! XD

  • OMG that was scarry i dont think i want to see that in 3D

  • nice done

  • you should jus fix his hair an his eyes the rest looks amazing

  • holy fuck that was good.

  • I want to learn how to do this.

  • Dude tahts awesome!!!

  • aaaaaand why so serious

  • You got some really good facial animation going on. Did you use blendshapes to animate the face?

  • something like that, in Max we call "morph targets"

  • This is realy nice done I love the eyes movment you put in

  • The lick at :49 is F*CKING FRIGHTENING! Brilliant job!

  • This is amazing!

  • omg dude sweet!!!!!

  • Wanna know how i got these scars? My father was ......a drinker......and a fiend. And one night...he goes off crazier than usual.Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that.Not......one bit.So...me watching he takes the knife to her...laughing while he does it.He turns to me...and he says:"Why so serious!"He comes at me with the knife..."Why so serious!"He sticks the blade in my mouth."Let put a smile on that face!"And...Why so serious?

  • dragon booster?

  • Joder, qué bien te ha salido la animación. Lo has hecho con el 3D MAX? Parece que has usado la técnica del Cell-shading no? Ya me gustaría hacer animaciones tan bien hechas. Un saludo

  • This is just awesome! 8D Great great job you've done with this!

  • I don't know why but when I watch this I picture Venom talking for some reasonaybe thats because how he has that big mouth that looks like it got cut with a knife.

  • creepy but cool. i like it. Why are you ppl SOOOO serious lol.

  • How did you get the cartoony graphics aswell as the black stroke outlines?

You did use 3ds max right?

  • I used Gradient Ramp for the shader and the plugin Illustrate for the outlines

    yep, 3d Max

  • @henriqvist nicely done man very epic!

  • @MjansAnimations I have tut on my channel that might b useful

  • y so serious? what the hell is that all about?

  • that's really good. i don't wanna sound like a hater just a little constructive feed back. it still looked a little plasticly in the beging. idk how you do this but maybe if the tounge movements were a little cleaner it would be completely perfect. don't get me wrong it was amazing i couldn't do anthing like that just maybe for next time :)

  • 1:00 EPIC!!!!
