This is a great movie. In fact, I'm glad I had the chance to see it when I bought the DVD not too long ago. Even though it was not well-received by critics, this movie has a special place in my heart as a classic. It has a nice dark story to keep me hooked. And not to mention I noticed that the actor who played as the Phantom in this movie was Robert Englund. The same guy who played as Freddy Kruegger.

Damn, this version really makes him seem likea a total psycho! this is crazy!!! I like it!!! lol I never thought that he was that violent with her, I thought he loved her, then again if it is anywhere close to the book, that would explain a lot!!

Well- love made Phantom crazy, and he became violent as "she could see nothing but his shadow". He started killing. He killed everyone who was going to save her. Meanwhile, he was all the time killing himself. That's a really pitiful and amazing story.

He killed everyone that would save her? From him? I mean Carlotta couldn't help her but she was beheaded. I like the story, but I much prefer to think of him as being the sentual and sort of seductive man devoted to Chris, not the psychotic killer Gaston created. I guess Webber's version is bit more appealing to the senses, still, this is a great movie, and I do like it, but sadly it's second best to the musicals! lol I don't really care for the newer movie released, I was disapointed with it :(
