I am not too sure but do remember hearing about them yrs ago! i bought sonics album and sent off for the bizarre octives n tremellos coloured 12" that must have 90 /91ish not long after the mushrooms n ohms caught up to me so moved off the scene still have all the albums "perfect perscription" prob best but always remember dance floor packed whenever ya heard first riff of

After Bassman split from Spacemen3, he had a side project from 89-92 called The Darkside which maintained the original rugby-sound [Because by that time some particular person within Spacemen3 was becoming too obsessed with that whole gospel crap thingy]. Their early eps are getting rare to come across though. And the live album (Psychedelicize Suburbia) is impossible to find. You can still get their 2-only studio albums (All That Noise) (Melomania), but only via the net usually. >google Acidray

The Darkside wasn't just a side project for Bassman, many of the original songs were written by Nick Hayden. Nick left the band shortly before a gig in Oxford where he settled for a while and formed a new band called Flite 118 playing some old tracks like Highrise Love and Ocean of Fire which was a favourite of mine.
