lol sounds like there is something wrong with your grandfathers geo. I can get mine up to 80mph. My GPS says my max speed is 81.3mph (not that i was going for top speed just was in a rush) and yes its a 3cyl with no modifications, just well maintained.
They are very good on gas, so much so that the newest Toyota Prius (hybrid) was compared to a 3cyl Geo Metro on MPG by a car magazine. (and many other car related websites)
Thats one healthy Metro. My friend just bought a Suzuki Samurai for $3000 then I remembered the Geo Tracker. I looked them up and they held their value pretty well too. Looks like the small 4X4's are in demand right now they do great on the sand dunes.
Mine can go up to 90mph but Ive done it so many times that my emissions are all messed up lol I can still do it tho 400k Miles too

I had to watch the video twice. I didn't hear the car start the first time. The second time I heard it. Very quiet start, and quiet running.
