I like the concept, personally, I think that if people were more accepting of each others' and their own flaws and not just their merits, the world might just be a better place. In my humble opinion, having an overinflated ego is just as bad as having an lack of ego. But it is good to appreciate one's self for whom one is. Likewise, we must appreciate others for who they are and not how we would have them be.

She often sings about personal experiences that a lot of people can relate to, and as a result, have been helped by it. But I can see how some people could be offended by it, or see it as negative. She is merely branching off from the angry person she was to try different types of music and sounds as she achieves her goals. She's not TRYING to change herself. She IS changing. And her music is a reflection of that. No, I'm thinking of that gorgeous strong woman in the video. Otep Shamaya sings about taking your pain and your suffering and using it to BETTER YOURSELF. Listening to her talk I've had kind of a change of heart. What I was trying to say before is that not all who are listening to her songs are benefiting from them in that way, especially songs like "Buried Alive", a song that some could have adverse reactions to such as rage, depression etc. Certain states of dispare can't handle vivid mirroring like that and that's a fact,BUT what she's doing in this vid shows sensibility about it all. I wish all Otep fans knew about this.

Yeah. When she was younger she was filled with so much rage...and what she did by singing about all this was open the world's eyes to what was really going on. She sings about things that some people can't handle, throws it in our faces and MAKES us understand and deal so that we can change the world. She really is amazing.
