1. What did he do specifically to promote world peace.
2. How come he is cited for promoting the reduction in nuclear weapons when this issue has been going on since the end of the Cold War?
His actions haven't seen any results. You shouldn't win an award for "promoting" actions. You should actually do something in order to win.
The Nobel Prize is a joke. Tookie Williams, the founder of the Crips gang was nominated too. That should say something.

I guess they gave it to him because of his inspirational messages of hope and unity. I think he will be able to transform those messages into actions later on.
