I agree about the sound there man...I have the same case, I'm just running all the stock fans and I have my gfx card fan set to full speed at all times and when I took it to my friend's house the other day my PC was quieter than his Antec 900 on lowest settings...I was surprised considering that he has no 80mm fans running unlike me.
Yes, it will be a tight fit but I'm sure you should be able to. (I have the same case.) Best bet would be to find the exact length of a 4870 and measure the amount of smace in the case from the back panel expansion slots to the bottom HDD cage. You can also remove the bottom cage for a little bit of extra room.
really is not that expensive if u configure 1 online the one im getting:
AMD Athlon X2 @3.1 ghz,800 Watt power supply, 4GB DDR2 1066 corsair dominator memory, ATI Radeon 4870-X2 2GB DDR5 (pretty much 2 of the cards he has built in 1),Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card,500 GB HDD,Red Cathode lights(what he has but red) 20.1 in. HD 1080p monitor, Vista 64 Bit and thats gonna cost me $1700 including shipping, installation of all parts and special heat compound.
why the athlon? i had one, then it died... now im using an intel Core 2 Duo e7200 (45nm) its a LOT faster, just go intel. im not a fanboy, its a honest suggestion.
1.) im a high school student and i cant work that much, they want almost $200 more for a CPU with .1 mhz faster.
2.) AMD and ATI are made for eachother, they will work a lot faster if u put them both together. i dont wanna use a nforce motherboard to go with it, cause that fucks up crossfire mode if i wanna get duel graphics cards. its just better because of the graphics i want. and the Geforce just doesnt cut it for graphics. intel e7200-2.53 ghz...athlon X2 6000+-3.1Ghz...thats why.
AMD and ATI, just because they're owned by AMD doesn't mean that they'll work better together. there's nothing in their architecture that says that they well and even if you get a crossfire board, a single nvidia card will work beautifully.
Also, even if the e7200 is rated at a lower clock speed doesn't necessarily mean its slower. Intel architecture makes their pricessors a lot faster than many amd.
Thats also why a intel core 2 duo is faster than a phenom x3. i had a amd 4400 at 2.4ghz, why is the e7200 at 100mhz faster, soooooo much faster than the amd?
The 4870 is a beast. I have it too and it works like a charm. I run Crisis max resolution (I think it's 1900x1200 and I get an average of like 30 fps.

video cards are a sham and a marketing plot
its the accelerator compression software drivers that do all the work and shading in dx11/10 and theyre optimised to work better and faster with certain games than others you gamers have been taken for a ride and robbed for years, video card hardware acceleration is a sham and it only powerdrains utility and thats it
Not sure what it was called but it was the Raidmax smilidon, but it was blue leds. Ya i did switch out the back, I actually ended up replacing all the 80mm fans with blue led antec tri-cool fans. I no longer have the case anymore, it's now my gf's mom's, as we built her a new computer with that case. I now have the antec 1200 = ).
I actually don't have the case anymore, It's my gf's now. I've upgraded to a full tower case, the Antec 1200. I liked it when i had it, but I'd probably say try to go with an Antec 900, for better cooling, or something similar.
Their pretty close. My gf has the 9800gtx+, and i tried it out in my system, the peformance were close to similar. I'd take the 4870 for sure though, as it will scale better with aa/af.
To be honest, i definitely noticed an improvement. The 4870 runs all my games good with aa+af, where as the 8800gt didnt take that so good, with the exception of crysis, thats hard on all cards.
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure, as i built this computer over time. I've upgraded certain parts over a period of time till i got to this point, instead of buying it all at one time. Are you looking at building a computer?? price range??
i c your pc has awesome performance. how much do you thing pc like yours costs now, because i am saving some money now and i am planing to make gaming pc next sumer. thanks for your response
im building a pc with the same specs as hes but with a different crossfire mobo and it has come to a total of €650 thats with case bascily everything thats about $750 us
Hey man, thanks for the rating = ). Yep 4870 is definitely a great card, it runs all my games at the settings i want them too. I plan on buying Crysis warhead, as i just noticed we have it in today at my work. Custom built ultimate rigs are the way to go.
Actually CRT's are [proven to be better in gaming, because they attain more higher refresh rates, around 75-90 HZ. but LCD's have more rich colors. and its a whole lot lighter ;)
Hmm I've never seen the difference of what 60hz compared to 75-90hz can do, so I've never had a problem. But it depends at what resolution your gaming at too, because on high resolutions, crt's go down to 60hz as well.
Thanx = ). I actually have a video showing crysis on my old 8800gt, it's in my video responses, and it's with the same settings. The graphics were set to 1280x960 all high in the video, but i actually game on 1680x1050 all high, its so nice, and smooth too.
if for long term which is the best..im using e8400 which is the best for my processor...help me bro before i m doin something that i might regret later..thx

Personally i would never buy from a company like alienware or dell, etc, beacause all of their systems are overpriced when you can build your own for alot cheaper and alot better. Also if you were wanting to overclock, maybe not now but later down the road they make it so you can't, and i also like knowing i have full control over my computer(Being able to overclock and mess with alot of settings in the bios). I really don't know the total it all cost because i kept upgrading to better parts.
Well, got back from the store, lets say in US dollars, case $180, mobo $200,chip $300, video card $350, mem $150, around $1200 huh, wou. Big difference from the alienware prices.

Crysis is well coded to work better on nvidia cards.Crysis for nvidia is like call of huarez for ATI two, extremely optimzed games.
But,i can play crysis at 1680*1050 res. with everything on Very-High and get 20-35fps.
In games like cod4,grid,assassins creed and lost planet.... i play with everything maxed out + aa and af.
I have it installed on a msi K9A2 platinum with a phenom quad core clocked at 3.1GHz and 4 gigs of DDR2"1066MHz" ram.
Your P35 board has a pci-xpress 1.0 slot ?
