  • trying to put the x-clamps back on doesnt fail completely, it's just really hard to do, which i did for my friends xbox when it red ringed on him lol.

  • i stripped one of the screws to open the metal case, any suggestions?

  • do you put the x-clamps back on after replacing the bolts?

  • your gay as fuck.

  • is this perminant?

  • ARCTIC SILVER 5 is the best thermal paste

  • do i need to use a specific type of thermal paste or is it just any?

  • @henrihasalargedong the best kind is artic silver 5,but any is better than that crap MS calls thermal paste.that crap is one of the main causes of the RROD.

  • it woooorked man..been working now for 3 days and with 3 hours today..thank u so much

  • U prob need to bake your motherboard at low heat for a few hours to "reflow" the cold solder contacts and to also un-warp the mothr board.. then do both CPU & GPU with newest modified x-clamp fix that re-uses xclamps with foam to evenly sandwich the chips. Also sand down the 2 raised holes slightly which has been causing warp & M$ rectified after 2008. They also created the x-clamp to apply undue pressure under chips Bcause of cold solder joints.

  • What?

The only thing I did wrong was drill the 4 holes a few inches away from where they needed to be.

  • Don't use nylon washers they just melt and coarse the RROD again.

  • can you please prove this?

or say why you believe this?

  • Melting point of Nylon: 374°F-663°F

I don't think it gets that hot.

  • Yeah i've done 10 360'Z now...none back(with RROD)...I did mine first...been hammering it and NO melting!!!!...I've checked!!!

  • dont listen to this - its not true.

you NEED to use nylon washers to enable the board to flex as it cools down, just metal washers will break connections on the board.

  • sorry - this was supposed to be a reply to the comment below

  • not using nylon washers would cause the board to ground out on the case sir. Not the brightest youtuber are ya?

  • actually the holes are likely to be coated and not used as earth points as in a pc motherboard why would mounting holes be connected to earth?

  • i have the e 74 and i did the fix but ocassionaly get black dots on my graphics. need some help

  • you either have a stuffed av cord or you damaged something on the board.

  • try the heat gun method. Research but remember not to move the motherboard when you use the gun,

  • nerd

  • hopeing this works, im up to screwing on the replacement screws. :)

  • is necesary remove the circle of life?

  • Hi, i did this before and had e 74 but after doing this i have 2 red rings . Please someone help me .

  • Thank you.

  • means the heat sink is not touching the processor

  • thats where your wrong you need 2 rings,2 rings is your 360 is over heated thats what u want it to do

  • This is one thing I don't understand. I know that you have to make bigger holes in the case. But if your using bigger screws to anchor the heatsink, how are they going to fit into the actual heatsink unit?

  • You know, I don't remember exactly and I had the same question before I got started. It just works though and you will see once you open it up if you follow my steps, trust me :). Haha.

  • can i ask what is the difference between install a chip and flashing the drive ? is there less chances of you getting caught on LIVE with a built in chip ?

  • no one actually does chip mod now days as flashing is kinda easy.. you need to install latest firmware.. and yes you can get banned anyway... if you are so scared of getting banned then you should not mod the console on first place..

  • oh no im not scared. i already flashed my drive. i have so many games that i think its impossible for me to ever play live.

  • what a dumb arse yank

  • 0:56 oh shiiitt

  • i wanna play skate and gow again :(

  • i did this fix but a month later i got the rrod again.was it because i forgot to put thermal paste on the cpu as well as the gpu?

  • you need the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU

  • your an idiot.

  • im not a idiot im just not a fucken nerd

  • He's a knob imo.

But yes, sounds like you may well have killed it if you cleaned both and only pasted one :)

    Possibly permanently killed i mean!

  • yh but now im buying the arcade xbox 360 for 300 australian bucks!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice.

Missed one of these as faulty for £25. Fuck. lol.

  • Good video! I just got the E74 screen. Im going to attemp this on my 360.

  • and i..did it...backwards..

    lmao

  • xD. I can't believe I did that, I even made sure before I went to drill it that I had the right side. Haha.

  • what glue do u use plz email me

  • I don't use glue...

  • lol what size screws and washer do you use for the xbox 360 x-clamp fix? really need some help!! have any one done it before and tell me it please?

  • u seemed pretty confused lol it's alright it happens to a lot of people great video it helped a little bit

  • I had my mind on the Pizza I ordered, it was getting late, haha :D. At least it worked afterward.

  • lol ya true if it didn't work u'd be screwed lol. How long have u had ur xbox before u got the red rings of death?

  • this vid is not well explained.. and plus he didn't even apply the heatpaste on it. and hes wrong about the red lights too.. it should be 2 red lights which means overheating && 3 means excesive overheating and maybe once you get the 3 redl ights you get the 2 red lights right after.. really stupid trust me theres more better vids than this on here

  • Sorry, you're dumb.

  • It's not a class presentation jackass...you're such a loser

  • wtf u dint add any new paste on the die ?omgwtfbbq

  • what torx screw driver do you use to get the gpu/cpu out??

  • u used T10, same to take off metal case

  • I used T8 for the heatsinks and front LED ring panel.

  • Dosent matter it the thermal grease is even or not! the heatsink spreads it out anyways. what i do is even it out into a fine layer covering the chip and then drop a small blob onto the heatsink! PERFECT lol

  • Working with computer parts on a carpeted floor in your socks isn't the greatest idea dude.

  • I thought about that too... we didn't do that when we were modding them though we were smart :]

  • lmao good video though m8 lol

  • Lmao, nice effort tho

  • Laughing so hard it hurts...

  • idiot

  • idiot

  • why you have to change the washers? that really fixes for a long time
