@hawkeye892 No, Curley assumes Lennie stole the Luger, but George sneaks off to steal it when he leaves Candy with the body of Curley's Wife. This is because he has already made up his mind to shoot Lennie at this point.
This is an amazing review and I greatly appreciate your time to make this. However I have a question, for the literature exam, are you required to memorise quotes to use in the exam?
@ADSamer No - you will be allowed to take in clean copies of all three of the texts you've studied, which means they cannot contain notes. I assume you own these yourself or your school will provide them on the day. DO NOT sit the exam without access to the texts!!
@peter1231231231234 It's just my opinion, but there was nothing to stop George just running with Lennie to get away from Curley's lynch party. They might have escaped. Instead he shot him, which suggests that, in part, he can no longer handle the burden of looking after him. It's not selfish in the sense of 'nasty' but selfish because it frees George of responsibility. The main reason though is because it's an act of kindness, to save him from a worse fate (Curley or prison).

why is it partly selfish for George to shot Lennie at the end?
