@youspic yes it is aluminum and we sanded the crap out of it. and used rustoleum metal paint in a can and put it on with brushes we used the brushed cause it gave us alot thicker coat than spraypain would and would help it to chip less. then we used a high gloss ultra hard spray on clear coat. good luck.

@youspic Yes it is aluminum. we used rustoleum paint and primer in one. The color is glossy grey.
