We were on Carnival Glory during this storm. They said Olga was right on top of us and It was really a wild night. The waves were almost bad enough to throw you out of the bed but the scariest thing was the squeaking and groaning of the ship. I didnt' have any trouble at all with being sea sick though.
And to think, imagine if it had been a hurricane and you more in it, that was bad enough, probably because of the filming of it sideways, meaning probably just watched worst videos, waves height wise, up and down wise, yet one point this looked the worst I'd seen so far, swell and all, creaking, gosh, sounds like about to fall apart, :).
nice size seas there:) ship starts rocking and rolling , crtains swing ,draws in cabin go in and out.. and ya get that nasty banging and creaking from the bow :) oh yeah baby were cruising now! oh i dam near forgot! the new cruisers by this time are being sick all over the ship lol!
Kedorlaomerist.. im not an old sailor :) im a young one hehehehehehe.. just had my fair share of force 12 in the atlantic. and that kinda looks like a 11/12 to me :) hahahahaha oh the joys of being at sea
My wife & I were on this same cruise when olga hit, we were on emerald deck aft, so we really felt it BAD, the stern of the ship came crashing down many times, it was a BLAST tho, we never got sick
You couldn't stay on the lido deck to long it was freakin windy, and the pools were all drained too. Only the movies under the stars thing was on, but you couldn't stay outside too long. The Promenade deck was closed, they cancel the production shows too. They skipped St martin, we just went straight to US Virgin islands. The captain even warned us to pop some pills, it's gonna to rough! Luckily this was only one day. The rest of the cruise was wonderful.
I always love a rough sea day exciting

It could be a cozy experience. What if it were a 25-foot Cape Dory Sailboat?

We got lucky and sailed the week after Olga. Flawless weather all week long.
So...I guess you pretty much had the pool deck to yourself?
