  • My soul's a bowl of jokes...

  • ALL .,.,.,

  • PEACE 2 U .,.,.,

  • Hi , I'm from Argentina! (First, Sorry for my english! :)) I remember when I Was 14 years old I Watch them on Woodstock in direct on a tv canal, I liked grunge and still (now i'm 30 :/ ), but Blind melon is diferent, every one that just can apreciate music, can understand that is a wonderful band that make music. And I Just can say: Thanks god for give me this bones of gold! And for created the web to conect with all the melons that before i feel so so soooo far away and now we are here.. near.

  • @blindVane

i couldnt have said it better myself....thanks man, love realizing there are others who appreciate it just as much

  • @jonahcbarnett Thanks Jonah!! All in all is all we are. (Sorry but i'm not a man jaja. I'm Vanessa!) PEACE LOVE MUSIC SOULS... I think that is LIFE. Saludos desde ARGENTINA... AGUANTE BLIND MELON!!! :)

  • shannon hoon rip

  • Blind Melon kept me alive when I was in treatment....

  • @shannonhoon420 same here bro, best of luck to you....much love

  • god this is just simpy amazing....

  • just another fix to push away the baby blues just 1 more

  • andy andy here we go here we go mfoc your souls a bowl of jokes o how i love the melon who cant see lmfaol

  • 30 people will never understand..

  • I love this group...I swear.

  • See Adilson Anjo....

  • shivers after shivers

  • i, personally, love Shannon. he was an engine of creation, a candle that burned too brightly, and, tragically, an Icarus caught by the sun... if u disagree u have no idea... also f**k off!

  • @nickselixirs Yeah, he was an inspiration...to do cocaine until you die.

  • I've read comments about how people are tired of hearing no rain. My opinion is that no rain help launched Blind Melon's career and the ripped away version of the song is awesome. Another thought, there are several albums I consider iconic in the 90's. E.g. Nirvana's Nevermind or Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream but my favorite is Blind Melon's Soup. It's a shame Shannon Hoon passed away so soon but still to this day they remain one of my favorite bands.

  • @ericb4president In my opinion, Smashing Pumpkins is way too under rated.

  • 30 people have bad taste in music

  • The govt sucked the life out of our generation by poisoning all of our heroes by allowing these huge cartels poison our most talented minds with drugs.

  • first of all No rain is a good song all around but it is not their best song and they should not be remembered entirely by it check out pull or mother or change wich is my all time favorite blind melon song and oh yeah galaxie is amazing as well and the pusher.

  • neil young is that you?

  • @TRlPZ Blind Melon played on my internet radio station, and I totally thought that it was Neil Young. I'm glad someone else can hear it.

  • I lost my grandpa today...He was a great man. I kept playing this song in my head all day. Shannon Hoon and Blind Melon will forever help me get through each day. I have no money, but I will find a way to visit Shannon before my time comes to an end. I love Blind Melon!

  • Guys check out Jena Kraus. She's on Youtube. I really like the song ain't no different than it ever was. There is two versions of it on the tube.

  • one of these days this will die, so will me and so will you, rip such an amazing song

  • 30 dislikes? There are 30 people with no soul out there...

  • Martin. Don't take it the wrong way. No rains a good song but melon has so many better songs that never made it main stream. With all this 20th anniversary stuff (pj nirvana rhcp) but melons never mentioned and most people only hear no rain on the radio.

  • Youtube really needs to hide who likes and dislikes music videos

  • Whose the girl singing with shannon?

  • @nhswrestle

    Jenna Kauss was her name

  • @thesilencebroke

    thanks

  • Shannon Hoon was definitely an amazing musician, I just can't believe it's been 16 years. The most difficult thing to understand is how the media never recognized any of their work besides No Rain. To me No Rain is my least favorite. I believe if your a fan than you agree with that statement. Somebody posted that Shannon's death put them on the map, couldn't disagree with you more. Woodstock 94 put him on the map. Just think of the potential this band had if Shannon didn't die a year after

  • @kbusking1 You can't be serious when you say that No Rain is your least favorite son of Blind Melon! Ö

  • @martinatorbcn if you listened to the rest of their songs you would understand why

  • @junkhead412 I have their discoraphy and No Rain is the best ¬¬... xD

  • @kbusking1 I agree with you completely. I could care less if I ever hear "No rain" ever again. I always skip it. I have gotten to the point where I almost feel like that song cheats them. It's so NOT a comprehensive picture of what they can do and how they really sound.

  • @kbusking1 Well actually No Rain's my second favorite song. Right after Change:)

  • @kbusking1 i agree woodstock was a pivotal moment for them, this was such a great band and shannon was so amazing, dont know why things happen like they do, but this world was a better place because of the way shannon touched us with his music

  • @kbusking1: i'm a blind melon fan and i still like no rain a lot. it's a good song, just over played

  • good!, i like it!

  • Kinda cool how she was just a fan who followed them to most of their shows and then, bam, shes singing on one of my faves!!

  • AWESOME!

  • To those who dislike this I CURSE YOU WITH A Mouthful of Cavities

  • Im not gonna lie looking at this video and listening to this song made me drop a tear.......one of the best songs period

  • thanks courtney for that mix tape song is in my soul forever

  • We lost one of the most under rated frontman/singer 16 years ago today. RIP

  • rest in peace shannon... see you

  • I thought I was buying a Jane's Addiction CD, but the clerk put in the wrong disc. That disc turned out to be the one with this track at the end. Since then, this song has followed me.

  • I too hear the cats, and they are crying.

  • Sad song. :-(

  • Bellisimo ,esquisito,delicado

  • Fuck "OnLive" go advertise somewhere else

  • Shannon Hoon, voice of an angel... no I can not deny the beauty, if I had a heart, I would want it to be, like Jena Kraus, (oh what a heart that she has)

  • Happy Belated Shannon! May you please RIP! We love and miss you!!!

  • See the dislike bar?...Me either.

  • Oh, please give me a little more And I'll push away those baby blues Cause one of these days this will die So will me and so will you I write a letter to a friend of mine I tell him how much I used to love watch him smile See I haven't seen him smile in a little while Haven't seen him smile in a little while But, I know you're laughing from the inside out Laughin' from the inside out I know you're laughing from the inside out Laughing from the inside From the inside
  • Mouthful of cavities

Your souls a bowl of jokes

    And everyday you remind me

    How I'm desperately in need

See, I got a lot of fiends around

And they're peaking through nothing new

    They see you

    They see everything you do

See everything on the inside, out

  • its hard to turn away from the video when you start to watch, amazing.

  • One of my favourites, it's just clearly perfect.

  • One of my favourites, wish it was longer. Just seems to crank and then fade out lol

  • @1987gnfnr On the album the song continues into the song "lemonade"

  • Kurt Cobain dead at 27 in 1994 with a one year old child....Shannon Hoon dead at 28 in 1995 also with a one year old child....Bradley Nowell dead at 28 in 1996 also with a one year old child....R.I.P. to all and god bless their children. Drug addiction is a disease, not a choice. As for Shannon, I live in Houston and happen to know the guy that sold him that last bag of coke, actually the prick gave it to him. Shannon did the whole bag from Houston to New Orleans, with the band just watchin. RIP

  • THIS SONG GIVES ME CHILLS EVERYTIME I LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE MISSED SHANNON =)

  • just listen to rainymood at same time

  • Yes he was good but how can you miss someone you never met

  • @TheCj0987 if you dont understand that you dont understand music

  • @TheCj0987

I believe you can miss the presence of a soul you've never met. You don't have to physically meet someone to feel, then subsequentially miss that person's presence in your world. Shannon is missed by millions. RIP

  • I agree.. This is one of the best bands of the 90's hell ever!! R.I.P Shannon Hoon... love his music, miss him terribly

  • Jena Kraus is the gal with the amazing set of vocal chords.

  • who's singing with him?

    I love her voice!

  • @amabille16

    Jena Kraus.

  • One of my all time favorites! RIP Shannon...

  • Facebook search - "Celebrating the life of Shannon Hoon"

To everyone. This event we have created on Facebook is in dedication to the amazing person you can hear grabbing and twisting your soul right now as you read this. He is a man that should never and will never be forgotten. We are celebrating his life on October 21st by getting high and enjoying everything Shannon gave to us in his short time. Obviously we won't be meeting, just do what it is you do to honour him and share the love :)

  • what happened to music like this

  • Bad ass Tunes :) I love the separation of vox - different and very cool

  • Great band.. Got me through some tough times as a teen in the 90`s..

  • Me too, this song means so much. Love their voices apart, but together...wow!!

  • so beautiful i cry 90 percent of the time i hear this

  • 28 people shouldve never been born!!!

  • Whats reactions?

  • "Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”

-Chuck Palahnuik on Shannon Hoon...errrr well it was from the book Choke but whatever.

  • r.i.p.

  • I like Blind Melon because the lyrics of their songs tells about life. Not a typical rock-love songs that we usually hear nowadays

  • Mouthful of Cavities never fails to disappoint me every time I hear it. It's that song that you just never get sick of hearing.

  • Blind Melon makes me think about life....

  • I've been huntin this since my dvd was stolen at an after party... still gives me goosebumps....

  • this song really touches my soul...thank you Shannon for the great gift you gave to the world

  • whos the girl

  • @1293chazz Her name is Jena Kraus. She was a girl that kept showing up at a bunch of Blind Melon shows claiming she could sing and finally they gave her a listen and she blew them away and they let her sit in and record backup vocals.

  • @emijustine thanks man. that'd be such an honar. like "hey! favorite band!" and thy're like sing with us

  • Thank you Shannon..............

  • I'm in love with this song.. Shannon's voice was so beautiful.

Shannon, forever in our memory and hearts.<3

  • lets get this song to 1,000,000 views :)

  • @manbearpig937 maybe, maybe not.. either way, i agree the drugs did help bring out this beautiful music in him. But it was in him all along. Despite the drugs. ;)

  • to be fair to all of u talking against his drug addiction, yea it killed him and yea its a terrible thing, but do u really thing he could have written such beautiful music if he DIDNT have a drug problem?

  • this song fills my heart with more emotion then i think i can handle !!!! R.I.P Mr. Hoon !!!!

  • VH1 burn in hell

  • What alot of people forget about Shannon is not only was he an incredible singer and storyteller, but an exceptional guitarist. His acoustic work is phenomenal. I had the pleasure of seeing them live back in the day and they were incredible. One of the most talented bands of the the last 20 years or so.

  • Love this man, sad to see him go

  • Listen man I got the window open, hear the cats?

  • the way he could express his demons through his music is incredible...fck drugs...what a shame...what a loss...

  • Shannon Hoon was a god in the music industry

  • and welcome to addiction, tears through you and all the ones you love but thank god he lived to write this

  • whether or not you like the style, there is no denying that musically this is a complete masterpiece. listen to the layering.

  • me encanta!!!!

  • any relation to alison kraus?

  • Great song and beautifully done!

  • gonna listen this song again and again till it hits 1 million views. Yup that's how much I love this song

  • @davechicolombia Haha, that's exactly how I felt when I saw the view counter, before I read your comment.

  • This song is amazing. So many memories. This song searches your soul. U haters keep hating bc there are plenty of us that dig it. :)

  • haha /Agree The Robinelder .

  • where was this video shot?

  • @jacknixon42 At the Kingsway studio in New Orleans. It is an old southern mansion converted into a recording studio. It is where everyone except Glen lived during the recording of soup. This video is actually just an a small portion of a video called "letters from a porcupine" which is a documentary on the making of the Soup Album. It is a really great video and explains a lot of the lyrics. Especially Lemonade and the death march at the first of Galaxie...

  • love how they transition from shannon singing the high harmony and the woman singing the low parts too. dont normally hear it that way. one of shannons more unique features they way he broke male stereotypes

  • @TheRobinelder If you don't like it, fuck off.

  • Adore this, too lovely.

  • Shannon Hoon and Layne Staley had the best voices of the 90s. Definitely!

  • @TheRobinelder Even for YouTube, that is one obnoxious ass comment you've made there.

  • @TheRobinelder just because its not famous doesnt mean its not good

  • @TheRobinelder <-------Mad because he can't feel it and he knows that other people can :b

  • @TheRobinelder This song is amazing and u dont have to listen to it if you dont like it and stayed a fan for so long no rain was only a year before this and no rains not even there best in my opinion change and just because no rains popular doesnt make it awesome

  • @TheRobinelder I feel sorry for you not being able to appreciate good music. Checked your page out and like every comment you make is just some trolling bullshit. Go be a hater somewhere else.

Oh and good luck learning how to growl you douchebag rofl. "Hey man it takes a lot of talent to be able to growl!"

Now go fix your faux hawk bitch

  • I love how Shannon and Jenna harmonize together, it's fucking beautiful!

  • It blows me away that vhi has them as one of the top one hit wonders from the 90s in my opinion they were one of the BEST bands from the 90s!

  • @Hunnings5137 Well, isn't this the station that also considered "Smells Like Teen Spirit" the best song of the 90's? It's kind of funny that Nirvana got popular, Kurt died, and then they achieved a cult-like following. Shannon died, and most people only remember Blind Melon as the band with the bee girl in the video. One of the most under-rated bands of all time, but one of my favorites. So glad that I got to see them live.

  • @Hunnings5137 its because VHI doesnt realize they're just a one-hit wonder themselves. fags seeking publicity.

  • @Hunnings5137 Best bands ever...fug the 90's :)

  • @Hunnings5137 AGREE 100%..... far and away one of the most under-rated bands from their era... Could have easily been as big or bigger than Pearl Jam...(IMO)

  • @Hunnings5137 They are so undererrated. Blind Melon is still one of my top 5 to this day. F*ck vh1 and f*ck mtv!!!

  • @Hunnings5137 I hear the cats man

  • shannon and all of them sound good cause it pure energy from inside, i love you guys, thank you

  • shannon why

  • awesome

  • I am so glad i was in my 20's in the prime of my young life when all this stuff came out. When all this style of music was coming out it was so amazing, I couldn't believe it. Now, music is just garbage.

  • If You Like Blind Melon,,,You HAVE to LOVE this.!! Some Idiots Only Think "No Rain" When They Think Blind Melon...Those Are the "Radio Zombies"...That Will NEVER Get "GOOD MUSIC"...And I Feel Sadly For Them..!!!! :/

  • My favorite Blind Melon song

    R.I.P Shannon

  • shannon lighting the spliff off the candle..rest in piece brother.

  • 26 people need to stop marshing my mellow.

  • This song i can play over, and over and NEVER get sick of it, his voice was so unique, no one could ever sound the same, great song...

  • 26 dislikes? HOW!!? I think some people just hit dislike for the fun of it. AMAZING SONG!!

  • @billfunklaunch Bieber fans

  • @billfunklaunch I totally agree! Beautiful song!!

  • Oh, please give me a little more

And I'll push away those baby blues

Cause one of these days this will die

So will me and so will you

    Too true Shannon.

  • A true Legend again lost before his Prime -- will miss you Shannon

    ....I was wrong.

Simply put, I love this song, so much!

  • hêhé_Äný0ñË_wánÑÀ_chÅt_wÎth_më_Î_fëEl_sø_lÔÑElY_tÓDãý...

  • I just discovered this song today... I'd say i've listened to it around 10 times by now.

  • @boomkablamo where the fuck have you been?!
