  • omg... mike D looks just like Will Ferrell

  • maybe but truer words were never spoken

  • Mike D could just stop talking and all would be right in the universe.

  • I miss DJ Hurricane.

  • Its spelled "Bambaataa"

  • Mike D looks like Alice from the Brady Bunch...

  • @spyguybuy cold crush brothers, fantastic 5, busy bee, funky 4, treacherous 3, furious 5, lovebug starski, etc. i consider "new school" to begin when emcees began thinking more about making records than rocking all-night jams... run dmc is really considered to be the dividing line between old and new. i started listening to hip hop a few years before that, about '81-'82

  • originally djs played many genres of music & broke obscure artists. kraftwerk was one of those artists. the first EMCEES rapped over dj-extended r&b or rock breaks. songs like "heartbeat", "good times" etc could hardly be called "electro beats". i go back far enough that i dont consider beastie boys, tuff crew, run dmc "old school"... maybe kurtis blow.

  • True Hip Hop Heads & pioneers the Beasties are. Only the informed understand the importance of Afrika Bambataa through ALL of Hip Hop.

"Screaming" like AdRock said? You mean like NO SLEEP TIL BROOKLYYYYYNNNN!!! hahahaa

  • @Pirate7X I mean MCA

  • Brilliant musicians! I could listen to their stories from back then for hours...

  • @spyguybuy r u not listening 2 interview? do u know nothing about the roots of hip hop? kraftwerk may have been nothing (in the us anyway) w/o bambaataa. def beastie boys would be nothing w/o bam. also, bam created zulu nation which helped birth hip hop as a movement as well as dropping many other records, some of which i actually prefer 2 "planet rock". in other words, u wouldnt even be saying that dumb shit if bam hadnt introduced kraftwerk & hip hop 2 the us listening audience. wiki that!

  • @asadULTRAwalker Gracias. I actually seconded what you said here without knowing it below; I appreciate your sharing the truth.

  • damb how old are they

  • @NoMansLandProduction I know right, Mike d looks so old

  • @NoMansLandProduction We have 45 and 46

  • oh.... Mike D , your head..

  • great great great.love beastie boys.but africa bambaataa is nothing without kraftwerk.

  • @spyguybuy Wrong. Bambataa & Soulsonic had one 'hit' when Arthur Baker & John Robie remade Kraftwerk's "Trans-Europe Express" for PLANET ROCK. Bam founded the UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION which unified the whole culture a decade previously, brought punk rockers to Hip Hop, spread the culture worldwide and too many other things you are ignorant of. All good, do a search of Bam on YT and google and you'll learn simpleton...

  • @spyguybuy I will counter one thing & prop you on another.

    Counter:

Bambataa is a legend of CULTURE and peace, through & beyond Hip Hop music, it was the vehicle that. Beasties, DMC Kraftwerk, & Kurtis are ARTISTS and you can debate who you like better (Kraftwerk reportedly dug Planet Rock but just the label and them just wanted their compensation from Tommy Boy, no beef).

    Props:

You mentioned the legendary TUFF CREW, so I will leave you alone.

  • @Pirate7X:not wrong the first rappers only use kraftwerk electro beats and melodies, electro voice and all that.they not sample other bands.only kraftwerk.and they imitate kraftwerk's talking and not singing.

btw.they not only use "trans-europe express" for planet rock.they use "numbers" too.so planet rock is just a mix of 2 kraftwerk songs.not more.and another point is.baker and robie stole that song.

but what ever.i love that old school stuff.beastie boys, tuff crew, run dmc, kurtis blow etc.
