i was lucky enough to download the entire concert bootleg (titled as "Thank You All") and i can tell you this: this is the BEST. It's complete from the tail end of the pre-show music, to Harvey Goldsmith's speech at the end of the concert, and the audio is perfect. It sounds like an official recording. If you're able to find that bootleg, I can assure you that you'll love it

How was this captured? Brian May has said that nothing was actually recorded at Knebworth due to a technical balls-up! Unless he was just referring to video images. THIS IS BLOODY FANTASTIC THOUGH!!!!!!!! Many thanks my mate

I'd probably do something stupid though and get myself in trouble- like jump on the stage and hug and kiss freddie all over.

when we gave our tickets to security they didnt give us the stub back and once they had collected a few hundred someone would go back out and re-sell them.the official attendance was 120 ,000 i think but im sure more made it in..

He was diagnoised with HIV in late 86'. Both Freddie and his partner Jim Hutton. Freddie didn't tell the band untill sometime in 87'. He was very shy and embarrised about it(who wouldn't be) and thats why he never told the press and his fans untill day before he past. You can have HIV and not even know it and still preform like did still did. It's the actrull AIDS that makes you bedrirden.

I was there in August and the 2 nights at Wembley and Manchester (3 times in 5 dyays...) In Manchester I was about 10 feet from Freddie which was ridiculously close compared to Wembley where there was well over 20 feet of space before the stage. Seeing him and I am not making this up with hindsight I knew he was a 20 th Century Century Motzart - he was there singing and performing the songs he had written ... and he knew it ...

It's in a good state either, some years ago there was a site with some rare queen audio, but shamely that is no more :(

- Queen did, for so far i know, always god save the queen at consert ends.

he had AIDS in 85 but didnt no about it, many interviews where set for 85 to 86 and out of 43 he attended 12, he hated interviews but was also very ill.

in the 85 liveAID concert he was worried and had test done no one knew the answer then in 86 after this concert he tested again and said "Im ok" and added "if anyones in doubt get cheched, but its ok im fine." personally with my uncle being a journalist at the time he said to me he thought he looked ill in these concerts i have more.........

my uncle also said he always looked good but on the odd occasion he would be coughing and splutering (he was a smoker though) but my uncle added he noticed in all Freddie interviews he was borderline drunken and very pedantic, and tried very hard not to splur his words, my conclusion Freddie drank loads of vodka tonics to block out the pain and get through the interviews, also in 1987 he stopped sex, drinking and cut back on smoking because he now had prescription drugs to ease the pain

Im a huge fan of Mr Mercury and am saddened at how he was looking very good and then started looking dead in the space of a year 1988-1989 he looked ok in 88 but the AIDS really started killing him in 89, note the drugs killed the AIDS cells aswell as the body cells thats 80s -90s medicenes for you!! yeh thats true, he liked to keep himself to himself, he was also extremely ill at points in 85 and 86, before he found the truth out so basicly 84 was his last good health type of life uno x

The thing is the Magic Tour was great! If i knew or was in bad shape in the 80s & if i were gay i think he guessed before the tests verified this.

i will send a picture of Freddie's arm in 85, you will be shocked, i was.

The reason they cancelled all planned tour dates in 87 was because of the AIDs.

You book Tour dates in a years advance, so he knew at the start of 86, possibilly at the end of 85.

You can see in the pic im going to send you, he has had something done to his skin, an AIDs test.

All his friends were dying, he knew way before 87.

its like a lesion on his arm = AIDs.

85-86 it started taking hold off him/ activating.

86-88 it was thinning him out.

88-90 slowly shutting his entire body down.

91, he actually showed signs of weight gain, but i then found out, his doctors put him on the steroids he was on in 86.

90-91 The end :(

@Gregsynthbootlegs when he died he say he had been diagnosed and had HIV for 7 years. Since he died in 1991 -7 = 1984. Although he didnt have AIDS he had HIV

Well, I know that he got diagnosed in the spring of 1987, and the other stuff (him getting HIV in the early/mid 80s) is all guesswork.

Someone said he had full-blown aids during the mid-80s which isn't even true!

Yeah! It makes alot more sense that way: He most likely was HIV + in the mid 80s, but the AIDS didn't start going into effect until around 1987.
