  • Vinnie is on fire;like always!

  • vinie colaiuta mi inspiracion

  • I have this entire concert on VHS and I have to say I've worn it out from watching it a million times. Best live Vinnie performance ever! he is "THE MAN'

  • best Sting line up ever! Vinnie.....words somehow don't do enough, best to just listen and realise how UNBELIEVABLE he really is! Peace to all.

  • good memories ...

  • The sound kicks ass... I cannot believe it's live...

  • vinnie kills but im curious what stewart copeland would have played on this. two fantastic drummers

  • 4:28 lost?

  • all sting members band at long all years are superb but this quartet was best ever

  • @621Kershaw Completely !!!

  • @4:23 epix

  • @621Kershaw He's the best Vinnie there is.

And one of the finest drummers ever, most likely. But he doesn't see music as competitive ... it's cooperative. A very humble and loving fellow.

  • I remember seeing this particular clip on a PBS special about Sting. Wonderful song from a great album.

  • Vinnie Colaiuta!

  • no doubt!!!!

  • its hard enough playing in 5/8 but singing and playing flawlessly is amazing

  • Not an easy sing and play song...

  • I completely agree.

  • That was huge.

  • best Sting band, just add Branford

  • damn right, but replace David Sancious with Kenny Kirkland too.

  • Oh man, this is when I began drumming. I was 13, bought my 1st Modern Drummer magazine, ironically Vinnie was on the cover. Sortly after, this aired on TV - which I taped. I watched this religiously, and learned every Vinnie lick from this!

  • aye!

  • i second that

  • Why oh why didnt they bring this out on DVD ? I saw Sting on the Ten Summoners Tales Tour at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and then Channel 4 in the UK showed this concert in Oslo, and I video'd it, and its now safely in an air tight vault until Stings record company decides to release this. It was such a brillant era for Sting and this tour was awesome, Vinnie just rocked.

  • I have another request to you, thedrumdoctor, if it is not inconvenient. Would you upload "Straight To My Heart" and "Englishman In New York" form this concert in Oslo? I will be very glad to hear and watch these fragments. Please. :)

  • "Come on, Vinnie!" Pure class, every time there's sticks in his hands

  • yes, allot of sting his music is not available on dvd... maybe they are saving it for when he's retired.. than they can charge extra? who knows..

But thanks for posting this dude,

    exellent stuff!

  • This concert was amazing! Thanks again. :)

  • This is another song from "Ten Summoner's Tales" which I adore. Thanks. My best regards. :)

  • God knows why A&M didn't bother to release this gig as a DVD for sale. It is arguably his best band line-up since the Dream Of The Blue Turtles.

  • Maybe we should write a petition to A & M for release this concert on DVD... ;)))

I am especially fond of this gig. I saw it for the first time on local TV about ten years ago. Concurrently it was my first contact with songs from "Ten Summoner's Tales".
