if you think your doing it better, run it against a lexion 770, play with the big boys, if you can beat even a 760, or 590 i would be impressed, otherwise, not really impressed
@phil656565 i would consider buying a lexion if they didnt lose there value so fast... also the gleaner S77 is only a class 7 combine that would probably out do your lexion class 8 combine whatever that may be, and use about half the fuel... yes i've road in a lexion they are very nice but gleaner is simply simple any average joe can fix on a gleaner... that is why my farm uses gleaners...
@colderweather3 weve had no problem doing most of the repairs on our lexions ourselves, it takes some know how and some skill, but its not too hard. I really doubt this gleaner is more efficient than a combine with the acert cat engine, our 590's (class 9) are using 3%-10% engine capacity at 5mph in somewhat crappy hailed corn (100-110 bpa). Theres no way this little class 7 would keep up with a 590, or even a 480 or 485, theyre just in a different league.
@phil656565 i like how you say most... we've completely stripped apart a gleaner R72 (because it was a burnt machine) put all new parts in the combine starting in february and had it going by the end of February ... we also have cows which calve out in february... im just saying they are more simple and you cant disagree with that and if you do you have never rode or even looked at one...
@phil656565 weight, fuel, efficiency, are other factors to look at im not saying it can out due a class nine but put it up to a class 8 itll out do it in most categories... up against a class 7 it'll out preform it in every category...
@phil656565 It keeps pace with a 585R class VIII combine in episode 2. What you say to that? One 130 less horse power besides. What do you think the fuel difference would be?
@phil656565 Why would you want to compare a class VII Gleaner to a class IX Lexion? In episode 2 the Gleaner went up against the then current for 2010 585R class VIII and kept up with it with 130 less horse power. Not bad. The 770 wasn't even offered until 2011 BTW.
For some a battle ship wouldnt do them any good ,,,love listening to my neighbors super hat bale wad feeding machines ,,seen a busted in half front drum ,,and concaves busted into ,,lol called setting your grain head
This really should be the future of combines. Combines can't afford to keep getting bigger and heavier--they just plain are getting to the point where they are causing compaction problems in the field. I like the compact design of this Gleaner--most people don't know that next to water, compaction is the greatest growth limiting factor for crops.
Dont be fooled!! gleaner is a massy fergusson and to be honest.. even MF new combine which is just like Gleaner is nothing impressive at all(i am from EU our crop is diffrent here in EU JD is not good either because our crop is too large and too much seeds on) here in EU NH and Class is really the only choice..
when you watch carefully you can see the cab of the gleaner super 7 is from claas
i dont agree with you about gleaner is a massey ferguson. Gleaner is a part of the AGCO company but still creates his own machines. Gleaner have still there own engineers and still create machine from there own ideas
i think the most mf combines are from the inside more a gleaner because gleaner is specialised in combines and harvesting. and yes AGCO use the parts from all there brands that the own to create good machines some of the best combines are NH and claas yes but those brands have also there weaknesses were i live (holland) we got larg crop much tons of seeds/acre but most farmers here drive john deere or NH ;)
@thorbpdkYou are ttotally wrong. You're thinking of the axial Gleaners like an A85 or A86. Those are Masseys but the transverse Gleaner has always been it's own animal in the world of combines.
@thorbpdk I live in denmark our crop is the samme here in DK John deers dont have a good time because they are made for US conditions heres everyone drives class or NH and a few MF
its too bad that gleanor thinks they have something cause when pricing it out its as expensive as the largest JD CASE CAT and yet its the size two sizes down. Way to try to impress but i've got to buy it and your value is not at its price point
funny....this is only 5hp from a class 8. Ya can keep your red and green belt burners. Its stupid to classify combines on just purely horsepower. I can put a 400hp 12valve cummins in my Gleaner L3...does that make it a class 8 too? Chip the combine and your knocking on the door of class 9's with 3 less tons to roll down the highway
They can say what they want but there is a reason why case and deere sell way more combines then agco ever will, we own 20 8010 case's and we will cruise thorugh 50 bu/acre fields at 8mph and only running at 110% capacity (goes to 150%), like to see a gleaner even scratch that
@habby21938 lol my cousin owns a 8010 we run in the same field as them with our old R72's in 80 bushel wheat and we do about 19 acres an hour compared to an 8010 that only will do about 16-17.... acres add up in 12 hour day...
@redlinefarms but if they were to build a class 8-9 that was capable of out running 770 or cr9090 as their flag ship whilst being more fuel efficient then it would be alot more competative with the market leaders.
the thing was a tank i ran one 18 years ago unloading auger was super low my boss tore it off a few times but on the road the fuken thing was dragster it went over 24 mph i didnt get 2 go any faster cuz it would start 2 sway side to side and fly into the ditch i know cuz i did it
@muroly72 Between my and my Dad in 35 years running Gleaners we never ripped an auger off yet. I bumped one once with just a small dent to show for it. On the other hand the neighbor ripped his off his Massey a couple years ago.
Should this combine be tested in other crops then just wheat? ya it does great in wheat. what about the smaller harvesters that do many different crops. this combine might do well in one crop and do poor in others. now I'm not dissing this combine I'm just asking if it does great in wheat, will it do just as well in other crops?
Just traded our John Deere 9510 for a Case IH 2388, but in a few years when im ready to trade again I will look into a super series. Thats the most impressive improvements I have seen in a combine in a long time!!!!!
@CNHfarmers You do realize this is a video made by people from gleaner, so of course it shows gleaner super series are the best. I think the biggest problem with combines is the operator, if you don't know everything about the combine you are running youre gonna have problems and not knowing how to run it for the best results. Im sticking with the axial flow. They may have more belts and chains but out of all the combines in our valley our 2388 does better than any of the 60 or 70 series sts
Too bad gleaner will be dead in just a few years,. just like orange agco tractors. Had allis , gleaner and agco now going to CNH. Massy in my area is a dud!!!!!
@jgjenn CNH, im pretty sure its still agco, or is this already the next deal, last thing i was aware of they just kicked the orange stuff out for massey and challenger. please correct me if they are selling agco to CNH, that would be interesting
@SilverGleaner I don't believe so either, AGCO and CNH are to big to conjoin, and to different, i don't see everyone that drives AGCO or CNH to move to one brand. I doubt it would make economical sense for both of them, we'll see.
The Gleaner team has done a great job! It is great to have something to cheer about again. A lot of farmers feel about brands the same way sports fans feel about sports teams. Tremendous loyalty and pride. I think this is a great development.
if they didn't spread residue like shit, I might consider one
